I had a nice experience while I was there trying on dresses. Paid the extra money to have snacks and champagne and tipped the stylist $215 (which I was unaware was a thing, but was asked for a tip.) The stylist was nice and helpful at that time. Which is why I gave them a 2 instead of 1 star. I was told at that time it would take 7 months for the dress to arrive so I should order that day so I'd have it by November for Alterations in January. I explained that I was currently losing weight and I wasn't sure sizing. The stylist said we could order 2 sizes smaller and it could be altered another 2 sizes. I agreed to go ahead and order, only because of the long turn around time. The dress ended up coming in less than 2 months after the appointment. I only had a month to pick it up, so I had to go get it.
Fast forward 4 more months (today) and I have already shrank so much that the dress needs taken in 3 sizes and I still have 5 months until my wedding. It can no longer be altered to fit me. If the dress had come in in November, like I was originally told, I would have tried it on next month at Twirl and been able to say it already doesn't fit. But since it was received 5 months ahead of schedule, they will no longer do anything for me.
While I totally understand it is not their fault that I lost so much weight, I am disappointed in their service. Since I was told it would take 7 months and urged to purchase that day, it has now caused me to be out $2150 (plus the tip). I have to buy another dress also. The only thing they offered was to sell me another size at 10% off. The dress has been out of the bag once (for the alteration appointment) and if you look at it, it's still in perfect condition. I would have even been okay paying a restocking fee, but unfortunately this wasn't offered.
This situation has completely negated the original experience I had there, which was enjoyable. I am only posting this as a heads up for future buyers. Make sure you aren't pressured to buy that day under false premises and make sure you aren't going to need to return or exchange,...
Read moreI'm editing my rating due to the experience I recieved after my purchase:
I had a perfect experience in the beginning...From the initial phone call to schedule the appointment, to the trying on, and even making the decision, the experience was pleasant and fun! Sam was extremely helpful on the phone as I had so many questions and wanted to make sure I wouldn't be wasting a trip by visiting. My wedding was 2 months away so I was a bit untraditional by only having been engaged a month and needing a dress so quickly. Rachelle delivered such great service, made me feel comfortable the entire time, and didn't ever make me feel pressured to purchase. She assisted me in reasoning behind each gown I was deciding between and helped me weigh pros and cons. She was unbelievably helpful! Thanks so much to those two ladies! ❤
Unfortunately, afterward I (like anyone else would) was expecting to receive the same treatment that other customers had. I was asked to send photos after my purchase, and so I did. I let the employee on the other end of the text know that I was welcome to them being shared, as I was so proud of our big day and excited for my photographer to also get the recognition (as they had asked for her instagram info as well).
When you follow Twirl on Facebook and see how proud they are of their beautiful brides and how awesome they are with follow up, you assume that by spending such money on a gown includes the same treatment. In my case, the ball was dropped. My photos were never shared, a shootout was never made to my photographer, and it left me with a feeling that I didn't recieve the same great customer service and/or follow up gratitude that most other brides recieve. As a customer, the situation ended in great...
Read moreI did find my perfect dress here, but I was not overly impressed with the atmosphere. All of their dresses are around a size 12, and there really isn’t much of a selection. If you’re smaller than a 12 you’ll have to have it ordered in which can take months depending on the dress, and then they will tell you can’t return or exchange the dress because it’s “special ordered.” Forget about your budget they do not care or help you select dresses within your budget. The dress I ended up getting was double what I said I wanted. If you’re literally unable to budge on your budget and you want something more than just a plain white satin dress don’t even go here because most of their dresses are between $2,000-$3,000. Anything below that price is very plain Jane dresses. There is very little privacy. The curtains aren’t suitable for changing. Helpers were very personable, but not super helpful in helping to really envision the dress as in not pulling out the trains on dresses unless asked, not showing backs of the dresses or adding veils unless asked - in this way it felt rather rushed. The guests I brought with me also complained that the helper didn’t really care about them or their thoughts/inputs/questions - the helper was definitely more focused on me and what I wanted which was fine with me but did upset my guests. They also don’t do “I said yes to the dress” photos they just have a twirl display you can take a photo by. You’ll also want to call your bank before placing an order because their system will trigger your bank to stop the payment. The shop itself is very beautiful. I LOVE my dress and I’m very happy with it, but I had better overall...
