Seawah Furniture & Design — Local services in Kiawah Island

THE BEST EXPERIENCE: I have fully renovated and decorated several homes, but the very best experience I’ve ever had with a design team was with James and John at Seawah Furniture. While my Kiawah condo was under construction, these great designers helped me choose ALL the furnishings for this 3 bedroom condo in just two days!! Anything we didn’t choose from the floor, they found on their vendor sites. Having determined my taste and that I was going for a modern coastal look, they provided me with choices off different sites as we selected everything together, again within those same two days!! We even chose some artwork and accessories. Until the condo was ready for move-in, Seawah Furniture arranged for storage.

On move-in day, John supervised the movers that they arranged for and spent two days with me setting everything up in the condo. Later that week, I went back to the VERY conveniently located store (just down the road from Kiawah and Seabrook Islands) to have James and John help me fill in empty spaces with more artwork and accessories. Being with me every step of the way, they knew exactly what suggestions to make.

And here’s THE KICKER - unlike my past designers, they did not charge me for ANY of the time they spent with me or on their own working my project!!!!! When I would marvel at this to them, they would say “We are on the store clock, not yours”. I am not sure if they may have added a small design fee since my experience with them because I believe their design business has grown, BUT STILL, you will pay a small FRACTION of what you would with any other designer who would have you pay for every minute spent on you.

We bought a condo on Kiawah and wanted to refurnish but struggled with how to coordinate ordering new furniture, accepting deliveries etc when not living here full-time. Went into Seawah and was really impressed with the owners who are very pleasant. Worked with the designer Mackenzie who responded quickly, sent emails and texts of ideas, fabric suggestions that we loved.
