Winn-Dixie — Local services in Kingsland

REv: 2/25/24: This tore has gone down hill. They took out the Seafood Market and now it's just frozen seafood or suspect "fresh" seafood like shrimp. The bakery is like a deadzone. Of course they closed the Pharmacy. The Meat Market is like all other WD's, get it while you can. The meat is over-priced and it's not the best selection. I'm not sure what happened to The Beef People. The biggest problem with this location is the POOR produce section. They have a ton of apples, and grapes. Melons are usually rotten, the stone fruit is of poor quality, cucumbers look like hand-me-downs from the Farmer's Market in Jax. Greens, lettuce and kale that are bagged are almost always suspect. Don't even look at the cut fruit. It's always rotten or very near. If the container is full of liquid, it shouldn't be on the shelf. This isn't rocket science.

How I would fix this store:

You're in a rural area, fix the produce. Bring back fresh seafood as there is no competition for it. Bring in a real butcher. Cut down on inventory of slow moving goods, which would require more ordering, but the distribution center is in BALDWIN! This store has so much potential, but it's as if SEG was always waiting on Aldi. I can't wait for Aldi to close on the deal to buy the WD banner. Hoepfully they fix this. I have never bought bad produce from Aldi.

I was in Winn Dixie today traveling from ga to Fla I stopped at Winn Dixie went in to buy something’s was hungry went in gather my items had money order but they don’t take money order so took out my card wasn’t enough on it to cover what I had the young lady was nice patience with me I said I’m sorry it didn’t work put my buggy back in place left items on counter went out got in car just sitting there all of sudden this man came to the car came in my side I let window open door who does that I seen he had my items I wanted to buy in his arms he said is this yours I just broke down crying saying what’s your name he said what u want to drink I said I drank coke not knowing what to say shock he knew what car I was in he went back brought soda back out and said if he can help me anytime just let him know that was a blessing to me it let me know Jesus saw I was hungry treat others right serve him and he had a Angel preserved for me the Mgr. There are many wonderful staff. Gene is not one I find to be wonderful. I came in the other night and he was taking his frustrations out on a manager because the stocking staff didn't do something right and he said to redo it, the stocking said that would take time out of what she had left to do, he seemed like he didn't care. Then there was the front end person who is going trying to manage everything with a full line of people with self check out being constantly full, and only one person at the front end to ring people out, and one person as a cashier. She requested help to have another Lane open, and he took his transgressions out on this other employee as well. Instead of trying to find a way to solve both of these problems, he was rude and horrible to his staff, but he sat on his phone pulling off Lucky charms from an endcap the 30 minutes I was shopping.
