Teenage cashiers at the Piggly Wiggly are aloof and spend more time joking around and flirting with the bag boys than ringing up groceries. Bag boys have cursed and complained about working when carrying out groceries. Everyone is nice, but most of the time the teenagers are distracted and seem bothered to be there. Now the Pig has jumped on the bandwagon with self checkouts. They were voted best grocery store in Kinston in the past because of their customer service. I don't know what has happened, but that has changed. Guess Covid did that, too. Really wish they had Wi-fi so I could utilize my Alexa app grocery list because there is zero cell signal in the store due to the metal roof. You can't even call home to see if you are out of milk or move money into checking account if needed to pay for groceries. Zero signal. Used to be my neighborhood grocery store. With customer service going downhill, I'm just as well off to drive to Food Lion where the prices are cheaper and they have wi-fi. My loyalty is...

I truly love the food in the deli. They have a wide variety, daily specials and a full self serve salad bar. They have great prices and specials on meats as well. They keep my sprite zero in stock most times and the dollar isle is definitely a money saver. If you're in Kinston nc on hwy 258 north I would definitely suggest stopping in for a bite to eat or a great shopping...
