TLDR: If you're looking for a 1000% authentic, invested, and trustworthy experience whether you're brand new to bowling or experienced, THIS is where you need to be, and I don't hand out reviews just because. I told Jeff he needs to push more reviews because his service is UNMATCHED.
I've always loved bowling but didn't start really getting into it until about 2 months ago.
My Experience at Jeff's Pro Shop: I, like anyone reading this was trying to assess where I should go and if this would be worth the visit (especially since it was way across town and I have closer pro shops). I knew I'd have a ton of questions based on my own experience and the research I did prior to coming. I walked in and Jeff was assisting others with their ball but you could tell right away that people come here because of Jeff's attention to detail and the overall experience. Once we began talking I laid out my entire experience with bowling and 1 other Pro shop where I got my first ball. IT WAS NIGHT AND DAY.
I asked about PAP, showed him my 1st ball, and even shared my uncertainty about figuring out which ball weight I should use. He looked at me, smirked and said "I'm glad you asked". We proceeded to test out each of the ball weights I was torn on with two different demonstration tests to assess my comfort and functionality with each. Once I decided and he completed my measurements, he then proceeded to make sure I knew how to use the ball properly with my new fit and ensured it met my comfort level. He was thorough to the point of calling me out about trying to cheat proper technique for fear of the ball "sticking" or getting stuck on my hand. Jeff is retired military and says he does this because he loves it and provides an experience. Trust me when I say this is 100% true. I hung out, chatted with him and other regulars while he got us all sorted out and it was far better than what I was expecting. I told Jeff I was looking for a home for all of my bowling needs as I dive deeper into this sport and I found it.
The next day I bowled my best game ever with the brand new Storm Phaze II that Jeff drilled and fit custom to me the day I went to his shop....
Read moreI was looking for a pro shop that was open today, just to browse and see what options may be out there for me, to get a stronger main ball. I googled, and found Jeff’s pro shop. Not knowing of any bowling alleys in Kirby, I called to ask if he was a solo shop or attached to a “house”. Jeff told me he was in the Turner Bowling Club. (They are a club, and a 9 and 10 pin house). Upon arriving, I saw Jeff had one bowl in particular, that peaked my interest (and was on sale). I thought my visit would be quick, but quickly learned Jeff is busy, but also takes his time with each customer, and in a very thorough fashion. I told him what I had currently, and what I was looking for. I ended up bowling a few frames so he could see my release, oil patterns, and etc. He saw what he needed to from me, and made his recommendations from there. I ended up purchasing a Rotogrip X-Cell. (I will be retiring my almost one year old Storm Summit Peak as it’s not as strong as I had hoped it would be). I was expecting him to measure my hand and then need days to actually pick up the ball. Nope! He did everything on the spot, and was very thorough on every single detail. Jeff truly goes above and beyond for customers - all the stars!!! Thank you, Jeff! I can’t wait to get the xcell...
Read moreFor my boyfriends birthday i surprised him by taking him here to pick out his own custom ball.
The shop is located inside of the turner bowling club an organization that is celebrating 171 years this year! Be sure to ask Jeff about it as he knows all the history of the club.
As for picking a ball my boyfriend had one in mind that he saw online. Coming in though Jeff asked alot of questions about how he bowls and the style he uses. He even watched him bowl a few frames to see his exact style. He then recommended a ball for him. (It was even cheaper than the one he originally wanted)
He took the time to measure his hand precisely and finger circumference before drilling the ball himself right behind the counter. After the initial drill he then let's you hold it and feel it to see if it needs to be opened up more.
The experience was so good I ended up getting myself a ball as well!
Overall I highly recommend the shop and Jeff as he is here to help you find the perfect ball for your style. I know we are very happy...
