I took my beach cruiser bike to this man to have it looked at to be sure it had been put together correctly. I was very upfront that I knew this was just a play bike and not an expensive bike. I just wanted a cute bike I could ride around my neighborhood. I bought the bike for my birthday and was the best I could afford. I asked the owner if he would look at it and he said yes with pre- warning that it could be 100 or so and I said that is fine. I brought the bike in as agreed and he told me over and over what a horrible bike it was, what a cheap bike it was. He kept telling me he was not trying to be rude or a snob. I was very uncomfortable the way he was talking and thought to myself, listen I just wanted you to look at the bike, I was not asking for a review of the bike etc. I left my bike there and thought wow that man is really either an angry man or just really hates my bike. He texted me to let me know the bike was ready. I went in excited to have my bike and he started again telling me how cheap my bike was , how horrible my bike was on and on… I said sir, please I get it that my bike is sub par and I understand your feelings but now it is becoming just plain rude. He got very angry and told me he was very angry with the company that made the bike and very angry with me. I was in shock. I said sir let me pay you and he said no I don’t want your money. I asked again please let me pay you as I always pay for my bills. He said no I don’t want your money. I have never in my life been treated like this and really have no idea why he did this. I asked him why he agreed to fix my bike, why did he not say no? He said he would never fix bikes like mine again. Wow- What a horrible experience that was. I love my bike and for...
Read moreI met Aaron in 2003....when I was just starting my triathlon journey. Aaron Chidester was my bike mechanic, but he became more than that.....he became my friend....and shortly after that became my support/sherpa when I competed in the Sea to Summit Triathlon. Steve Jacques was introduced to me thru Aaron (and S2S) and for the last FOURTEEN years, these two have taken care of every single need my ridiculous number of bikes could ever need (and talked me off the ledge a time or two).
I can't imaging getting bike service (or counseling) from anyone else. I've since moved to Seattle and still consult both of them anytime I have an issue with my bikes, am making a new purchase or just want to chat.
These guys are the real deal and in this day and age, if you can text the people who take care of your passion (sport) at 4am, without a bat of an eyelash, then I say, you found someone who cares not only about business, but cares about the...
Read moreI rode my bike over 50 miles from home to Portsmouth / Kittery and something went wrong with my derailleur on my way down. I still had to ride home but I wanted to get it looked at first. I stopped by The Foreside and he looked at it same day, and not only fixed it but even walked me through what happened, how to address it in the future and steps I could take to properly clean / maintain my bike better so the same problem could be more preventable! (He would have fully cleaned it himself but I did need the quick fix at the time; a mutual understanding between both of us) Excellent service, very knowledgeable and genuinely cares about both the customer and the bike! I'm very satisfied with the service! I recommend coming here for any repairs and/or maintenance on your bike, I'll stop by the next time I go...
