Bells & Whistles @ the flower field — Local services in Kitty Hawk

Still in shock over the horrible experience on my wedding day. When the flowers were delivered the day of our wedding I thought it was a joke. How could anyone with a supposed reputable business think what we were delivered was okay? I should also add that the person delivering the flowers didn’t even have the balls to give them to me in person, they dropped them off with a relative and quickly left. I have spoken to several people who have said in their experience they have never known this owner not to drop off the flowers with the bride. Shouldn’t you be proud of your work and want to make sure the bride is satisfied? My bouquet was dead, the boutonnières were dead, the corsages were dead. The flower girl wands that were supposed to be like my bouquet were red berry branches wrapped in green ribbon. Nothing like we discussed. Our colors were supposed to be white, beige, and ivory. My “bouquet” was just a large bunch of flowers not even wrapped in a way I could carry or like we discussed. The stems were also cut so short there was no way of even trying to save it ourselves. So much for the big cascading bouquet we discussed. Our family members couldn’t even wear their corsages or boutonnières because they were dead and the exact opposite of what I had discussed I wanted with the owner. My husband didn’t even have anything to wear on our wedding day. Since I was so distraught with what we received my sister tried calling the owner and was met with rude and uncaring response. The owner tried telling us she had 30 minutes and could try fixing it if we wanted, however I’m not sure how she could have fixed already dead flowers in time for a wedding mere hours away. Even a novice would be better off going to Harris Teeter and doing their flowers themselves after...

Edit: the owner of this company is ridiculous. Ungrateful? When I stated I love them because they are from him? Crazy. The issue was the flowers are DEAD looking. As one other review said. Do not take last minute orders if you can’t even attempt to make them pretty. SMH. Lastly he did not order because there was no other places available. He saw the arrangement and thought it was pretty. If we would’ve known it would be the condition they are, he sure would’ve waited for a different place. NO EXCUSES, AGAIN. My partner surprised me on our beach vacation trip, my first time at/fishing & being this close to the ocean. He did order these not too long before closing time but there is still no exception to the condition of the flowers and misleading order photos vs what he got upon arrival. The garnish flowers ARE dead. Roses on one side and other flowers on another. Uneven and wilting. He spent $75 on these, when ALSO, the photo of the arrangement looks completely different. These are worth $30 at best. They were the “I Love You” arrangement, pictured was beautiful white and pink roses with extra white flowers. Out of the year we’ve been together he’s ordered me plenty of flowers - all came as pictured. But this? No. Find a better place. Seriously. I’ve already seen one review of this company trying to justify these dead arrangements. There are none!! Don’t want a bad review or have an excuse for everything? FIX IT! SMH. I'd like to start by pointing out something that I was unaware of early on in the planning process when I first found Dorothy and Bells and Whistles...she can coordinate rentals too! I called her for flowers and was thrilled when I found out she could also do our ceremony chairs, arch, and lighting and drape in our venue....and she can also do table decor and napkins. Since she was handling all of that, I had the peace of mind knowing it would be expertly coordinated. The website mentions rentals, but it undersold what she can really do, in my opinion! Having all of that in a one-stop shop was so nice!

Now to the flowers. THE. FLOWERS. Dorothy made my pinterest dreams came true and then some. I sent her pictures for inspiration and told her what I liked and didn't like. She took my vision and ran with it. The quantity and quality of florals we received were honestly more than I was expecting. Dorothy expertly chose bud vases and accessories that perfectly complemented the style of the wedding and were, yet again, above my expectations. My grandmother, who is VERY particular about flowers, has been raving about how beautiful they were since the wedding. Trust me when I say that is a HUGE compliment coming from her.
