1.0 star rating 6/21/2019 Stopped by OBX Chevrolet for a routine oil change and tire rotation.Jeri in the service dept informed me they did not rotate the tires, because they are in need of replacement..I had 21,392 miles(60,000 warranty) on this 2017 Silverado at the time, which I purchased new from OBX Chevrolet.I asked her if they were covered under warranty and she told me there was no warranty coverage for the tires on my vehicle.I wasn't willing to accept that and told her that I wanted the tires rotated anyway.
When I came home,I made a call to Bridgestone and they told me that I DO have coverage and that I needed to contact OBX Chevy and have them get in touch with Bridgestone,or drive to VA to the nearest Bridgestone dealer .I contacted Jeri and told her that I wanted to speak to the service manager.Several days later,Jeri informed me they were working with GM on having my tires replaced.I stopped by and had pics taken of my tires and she informed me that in 21 years she's been working in the service business, she's never submitted a warranty claim for defective tires!
Several weeks later back and forth,no progress has been made,so I decided to call GM myself. They informed me that within 24-48 hours, someone would be contacting me.Two days later Jeri calls me and tells me the same tires are $236.55 ea and are on order.Bridgestone's website has a suggested retail price of $180 per tire. The cost would be over $500 after the 48% prorated discount.I told her to hold off and I emailed the service manager Mike Miller for an explanation on the high price. He and Jeri both informed me the price of $236.55 each comes straight from GM.After my initial visit and my tires were determined to be worn,OBX Chevrolet gave me estimates on 3 different tires,$165 per tire for a set of Generals,$169 ea for a set of Firestone Destinations and $215 per tire for a set of Michelin Defender LTX's,which is a great tire and seemed like fair pricing, under normal circumstances.Once again I wasn't willing to accept being screwed,so I contacted GM once again and they informed me the pricing is determined by THE DEALER,not GM!
Knowing I was very upset, the folks at GM put me in touch with Performance Chevrolet, which is located an hour from where I live. The lady I spoke to was very nice and willing to bend over backwards to help me any way she could. She gave me a fantastic price on the tires, using the information that I provided her,but would require me to make 2 trips to the dealer.one to take pics and submit a claim and the other for installation. She also informed me the price is set by THE DEALER and not GM!!!!!!
I'm seriously thinking about submitting a complaint to the BBB.This can't continue...............I'd give zero stars if...
Read moreI was on vacation with my family and my mother’s 2015 Buick Encore (with only 3000 miles) wouldn’t start. It was the first time it happened so we didn’t think anything about it. We jump started it and figured it would be fine. Well after having to jump start it 5-6 times that day I knew something was up. I drove it to OBX Chevrolet Buick on Aug 30th and explained the issue. The service advisor Bob Parente advised us that they were booked and didn’t have an appointments available but he would see what he could do. He ended up taking the car in and told us it would be at least a couple of hours if at all before he could test the battery and see what was going on. We explained to him that the lease on the car was over in about a month and wouldn’t mind looking at possibly leasing a new car. He steered us to a salesman named Cory Piddington. Cory was an extremely nice guy. He was very personable and had us our test driving a new Encore before the sales floor was even open. He texted the manager Marc Hellman before he even got in and explained what we were looking to do. After a little while the manager Marc Hellman came in and sat down with us. He asked about some finance stuff and went to work on getting us the car my mother wanted. Unfortunately we couldn’t get the monthly payments where we wanted them. This was not due to anything lack of trying or help on their part. They did everything they could to give us a great deal but as I stated my mother wasn’t able to get to the payment she wanted. We then left and waited to hear back about he car and battery. Around 4:30 that afternoon Bob Parente called us and told us that they were able to check the battery and the car. It turns out that the battery had faulty cells and they replaced the battery under warranty. No cost to us. A lot of dealerships knowing that we were pressed for time and were leaving for home in two days might have tried to get over. They could have said the battery was bad and that it needed replacing and charged us for it. The service people at OBX took the time to do the right thing and make sure we got the service that we needed. I have nothing but great things to say about this dealership and the people we dealt with. Don’t hesitate to stop by for your vehicle needs and service. Thank you Bob, Cory, and Marc. You guys are aces and the dealership is lucky...
Read moreIt's February 2022, and I'm just getting around to writing this; my experience was from May of 2019.
My friend moved to the Outer Banks for a job in 2019, without a car. We were travelling around Virginia and she was looking everywhere for a good, reliable, nice used car at a reasonable price. She couldn't find anything. We then came into NC.
As we arrived in the Outer Banks, we passed this Chevy dealer and stopped in to see what they had. She fell in love with one car, but it was already sold. We met a VERY NICE salesman (sorry I don't have his name) who showed her some other cars. This little white one she liked very much - it was clean, neat, looked very well-cared for, and had 50,000+ miles on it. Price was very reasonable. She said she'd think about it.
The salesman was so nice and we are from Miami so we are not used to that (Miami is rude, with rude people, rude drivers, and just rude in general). We were impressed how nice he was and no pressure at all.
My friend thought about the car overnight and we were very anxious the next morning to go and buy the car. She bought the car and it didn't have a full warranty, but did come with FREE OIL CHANGES! Nice perk. The sale was easy and the gentleman was just so cordial to both of us. It was a very nice car-buying experience.
That little car (I am not familiar with types of cars so I don't know what it is - but I am attaching a photo) has been back and forth to Florida several times and has gotten my friend around the Outer Banks for the past couple years. She has taken advantage of those FREE oil changes. She has had absolutely whatsoever NO mechanical issues with it and, only recently, she needed tires and brake pads from normal wear - she got them both at this dealer. It's been a great little car and now has more than 60,000 miles.
We appreciated how we were treated and the great buying experience at this dealership. I really can't say enough nice...
