CHKD Thrift Store — Local services in Kitty Hawk

I have to say that I have never been treated the way that I was treated in the CHKD Thrift Store in kitty Hawk NC and it was not good. S due to underline health issues i cant were a face mask. but I do were a face shield and have never had any issues in stores with that. so i went into the store to shop and was told to leave. because I did not have a face mask on and they do not count the shield as adequate covering. I was even walked to the door to make sure I had left. IT WAS SO HUMILIATING. My husband was even told that any one with health issues that cant were a face mask can not shop in there stores. so if one of the children that they so call support were to come and could not have a mask on due to there health. they also would not be welcome. how...

BEWARE OF INACCURATE PRICE CHARGING The store closes at 5, not 6. There is a sign on the store that says due to staffing shortages. Everywhere has staffing shortages now so I can kinda understand that. But, I can’t understand overcharging. I went in on Friday, 5/02/25 which was the beginning of my weekend beach trip. I purchased a decent amount of items. I looked at my receipt once I got home on Monday and had been charged $19.99 and &14.99 for 2 different items. I didn’t have ANY items that expensive. I looked at the tags that were still on my items and I should have been charged 9.99 and 4.99. I live 3 hours away. So they got an extra $20 from me. I won’t go back there...

While I do sometimes regret buying things that do not work and I understand that somethings cannot be tested. But if that is the case it should not be sold. This evening was not what I expected. And that was to be told that I needed to terminate my shopping 15 minutes before closing and to take my one item to the counter. Upon which I put my item back on the shelf so as to not cause any delay in closing by being one of three customers needing to check out.
