Does living 7 miles from campus in a hotel sound better than living in an on-campus dorm room? I spent time with sophomore transfer student Grace Collier to hear her experience living in the University of Tennessee’s off-campus housing at the Holiday Inn Express. #universityoftennessee #utkhousing #holidayinnexpress #transferstudent

*****THIS IS A TRAINING HOSPITAL FOR THE UNIVERSITY SO THEY REALLY SHOULD BE TRAINING THEM IN HOSPITALITY & BEING RESPECTFUL IF THEY WANT THE SAME, LEAD BY EXAMPLE PEOPLE!*****YOU DONT GET RESPECT WITHOUT GIVING IT! Absolutely disgusting behavior from them. My uncle is there now after coming in last night. They had to cut his clothes off & are now forcing him to move into the lobby to wait until my grandmother can pick him up, only telling him to visit a neurologist. Not to mention they have to stop & get clothes for him since his were cut off. Nothing against that but the VERY LEAST you animals could do is give him a ROOM with PRIVACY while he waits. I thought INDECENT EXPOSURE was a crime. If it isn’t an emergency I highly recommend going somewhere else. Multiple bad reviews within the past 4 months. DO NOT GO HERE UNLESS ITS EMERGENCY, & even then good luck I’ll pray for you to get decent treatment. EDIT: found this picture in another review. Talking about respect the staff, give respect for YOUR PATIENTS bc they sometimes have no choice but to go there. Also went to look and the most recent reviews have been terrible. Maybe they should look into that staff they want us to respect & give them hospitality training & fix it. GO TO FT. SANDERS PLEASE! *NURSES BOSS IS OUT OF TOWN SO I GUESS THAT GIVES THEM GO AHEAD TO BE RUDE TO PATIENTS & CALL INS*(the thing is most people go into this field to HELP & because they care (you will not find that here) so why are the staff that should be leading and training not prioritizing that to the STUDENTS they are TEACHING?) MEDICAL STUDENTS LEARN HOSPITALITY & BEDSIDE MANNERS IN THE FIELD & THROUGHOUT THEIR CLINICALS WITH REAL LIFE INTERACTIONS & PRACTICE BETWEEN PTS. IT IS SHAMEFUL TO BE TRAINING THE FUTURE MINDS IN MEDICINE TO NOT RESPECT OR TO EVEN HAVE ENOUGH HUMAN DECENCY TO HELP THEIR PTS. Please read other reviews its HORRIFYING. Especially with how recent the reviews are. There may be a few good ones but overwhelmingly most of them are awful. Pts. sitting for HOURS in the EMERGENCY room, Refusing to give medicine, Ignoring pts, Leaving them to sit unattended with no urgency to get to them. Multiple people being sent away with no chance to even have a bed after hours of waiting, NOT GETTING TO SEE A DOCTOR, not getting a diagnosis or even being checked on. I would say the only thing they are doing that's good is training, but they aren't even doing that right. You cant say oh lets be hospitable or respectful & your actions don't match. You're only teaching them to be fake towards people in a field that requires no BS or FAKING about any of it. They would NEVER want to be treated like THEIR OWN PATIENTS. They won't either because they have things they can do to better their odds at getting what they need out of a hospital. ONLY THEY HAVE THAT. That comes with working in a hospital. Something almost anyone visiting there does not have. I can guarantee not a single person their would want to be their own patient. Some may say well we are here to make sure you are alive, not caring about your feelings. What about the lady who posted VERY RECENTLY about her experience waiting for HOURS with a tube in her head, only for things to be pushed into gear when a WITNESS (her mother) arrived. Doesn't seem much urgency to save a life there. Also shows lack of hospitality. It was actually negligent. I agree saving a life comes first, but when that life is stable you should still be helping & caring for the patient instead washing your hands of them expecting someone else to do it or just having no regard to if anyone does it or not. AS LONG AS YOU GET PAID AND GET A SMOKE BREAK RIGHT? I could see why you guys have to post about being "respectful to staff" "zero tolerance" because you try to subtlety dismiss, aggravate, annoy peoples family and loved ones in the hospital & expect them to just take it. You wouldn't just lay down & take it so why should others. I'm sure the zero tolerance policy is there so they don't have to listen to GENUINE concerns & complaints about treatment of pts.

The ER experience was a total mess. Going for a regular doctor visits though are great. Plenty of parking too. $3 flat rate.

If I could leave a 0 star review I would. It has taken me a long time to finally speak out about my experience with UT. I am begging anyone who goes here for prenatal care and intends on having their baby here to please please go somewhere else. December 6th, 2020 I went into labor with my sweet baby. I knew things were going fast so his father and I left the house as soon as we could. My water had broke a few moments before pulling into the circle where labor and delivery is located. By the time we’d pulled in I was in too much pain to stand so he ran in to get help. A wheelchair. Really anything. The lady inside was only concerned with taking his temperature Due to Covid. No matter how much he begged and pleaded she would not call for help. There was also someone that worked with security that completely disregarded his pleas for help. Minutes had passed while I was waiting in the car. Someone that worked for the hospital had walked right past the car and looked me in my eyes and continued walking while I cried for help. He came running out telling me no one was helping him and that we needed to get me in. I was dumbfounded in that moment that this was an emergency and no one was helping us. I ended up delivering my baby right there in my car. He went back for help now covered in my birth. By this point it should have been clear there was an urgent situation. But still help never came. The lady at the desk made a comment at some point to him that there was nothing she could do because another person that was SUPPOSED to be there with her was fixing a radio elsewhere. My baby was turning blue and I knew he wasn’t breathing right as I’ve had two other children prior. I also was losing consciousness. My sons father went in 2-3 times with absolutely zero help being sent. During a time he was inside begging for help a couple had come outside and I had to scream for help. It was strangers leaving the hospital that led to us getting help. And with those strangers came more random people. With me in my car not knowing if my child was okay and I was bare having just birthed a child. Everyone saw me in this moment. This at some point led to code blue being called. They saw the situation without even checking to make sure my blue baby was okay and told me this was a labor and delivery problem and walking off leaving me alone once again. We even called 911 whom was as confused as we were and told us to wait a few minutes despite it having been 20 plus minutes. Once L&D arrived they were quick to get us inside and I thought the nightmare was over. It was not. Immediately they started trying to botch his birth time on records to make it appear as though I had just arrived and they were quick to help which was not the case. Even despite all my arguing they still put a birth time that was not even possible considering while I laid there alone waiting for help something told me to take a picture because I knew deep down they were going to cover this up. That time stamped photo is forever my proof of how crooked this hospital is. Once in a room they immediately jabbed me in the leg with something and without warning and shoved papers in my face saying I needed to sign them. I learned quickly they had given me pitocin against my wishes without getting my consent and made me sign something saying I agreed. And with that the doctor quite literally ripped my placenta out. And when I say ripped my placenta out I mean she ripped it straight out of me as my son’s father came through the door. We ended up having to stay in the hospital longer than normal. They gave me a misdiagnosis during the stay. The nurses on the floor were very poorly trained. They would not let me see a lactation consultant and when she did finally come by she didn’t help and just left. The last night I was there I felt so unsafe as thing after thing happened and I left AMA which is the only time they stated I gave birth in my car and no in the hospital. They also charged my insurance for the birth which my insurance is now...

I had an abcess back in 2019 that grew inwardly instead of outwardly on my neck. In 2019 I was misdiagnosed by Fort Sanders and given antibiotics, 7 days later I went to UT hospital and they gave me an Rx for a different type of Antibiotics. After taking 4 days of the 2nd antibiotics. I ended up having to go back to UT and have emergency head and neck surgery for them to remove the abcess. Fast forward to 10/5/2023 I went to UT ER after being told by my primary physician that they were calling UT and letting them know I was on my way and that I would be admitted upon arrival... Reason I had to go was because the same abcess they "removed" in 2019 had came back. I couldn't move my neck, I was running a fever at times, my eyes were sensitive to any type of lights, the left side of my throat was being constricted. I went straight to the ER as I was told. I was treated in such a DISGUSTING MANNER from minute #1 .... after 14 hours of waiting in the ER... and being told by their intake nurse, that they go by urgency and obviously my case wasn't too urgent, and that she will not give me an update (mind you I had my IV line already placed, they already did blood work, and they had already completed my CT scans with contrast within the 1st 4 hours of waiting and they already had the results back) After 14 hours of sitting in the ER I was brought back to a room where I was told that I was going to be admitted into the hospital (SHOCKER!!! As I was already supposed to have been admitted 14hrs prior) Now what I will go into next is why I walked out of there and have seeked legal representation. I'm not proud to say this, but in 2019 I was homeless and on drugs (methamphetamine to be exact)... when I used drugs back in 2019 I never used a Needle. I snorted my DOC. I was a "functioning" addict as I was never "out there" screaming at the blank air, doing the zombie dance etc. I never shared my straw (my paraphernalia) as I knew I could get hepC from sharing a straw. I have been clean and sober from the only drug I used which was methamphetamine since 10/29/2020 that was the day I found out I was pregnant with my daughter. Since then I worked 3 jobs, went to school, got myself a car, a home, and an education.... The reason I'm bringing all of this up is because I was treated by ALL THE DOCTORS, STAFF, AND EVEN THE CASE MANAGEMENT as if I was still a Drug Addict... Even though they had my blood work showing that I had NO DRUGS in my system or my blood for that matter... They still continued to bombard me with "well normally things like this only happen with IV users, and yes you're showing negative for any drugs however that's not always accurate and we like to ask the addicts first".... After repeating myself at least 18 times, that #1 when I was in active addiction, I never used a needle( I hate getting a shot, an IV etc) so this has nothing to do with IV usage and #2 I have been clean and sober for going on 3years! I have random drug tests at work (as I work in the Medical field as well) .. and how all the drug tests they (UT) had conducted and have reluctantly admitted was clean from any drugs, they continued to harass me, continued to treat me as I was less than a human because I once was an addict. This whole facility and their faculty need to go through some training and need to be reminded of the OATH they took!!! When I say I was treated horribly... I was treated horribly. 1 nurse kept bringing me meds in an hour before scheduled time, another kept me on an empty IV to which they caused me to have a blood clot in my arm (which they were still using to administer an IV after my whole arm was swollen and my hand couldn't move... another nurse blew my other veins from running empty IV line on so I had to get a PICC line.... they allowed 2 nursing students to come in unattended and mess with my PICC line, both of them asking each other if what they were doing was right. And also having to order Uber EATS to bring me food bc they kept...
