We stopped at this small Pistachio Tree Ranch Country Store on Highway 82 while returning from White Sands National Park, and it was the perfect quick break on our drive.
This is the smaller store, not the main PistachioLand on Highway 54, but it still has a great variety of flavored pistachios, pistachio candies, brittle, and local wines. The free samples were generous, and the staff was very friendly and welcoming.
There are large Alamogordo letters out front, great for a photo, is not the giant pistachio, but still good for a quick photo. Really cool different salsas, butters, hot sauces, etc. If I could only deduct 1/2 star they would get 4.5 from me...however, this place is very expensive. Meaning most people would not be willing to splurge and spend a bunch of money on nuts and sugar. It's easy to spend $100 and have a tiny bag of stuff to show for it. BUT, you will always pay more for quality so it's up to you if its worth it....
