About two years ago I bought a house in Lafayette prior to the purchase we requested a full inspection on the ac in the inspection report we were told everything was good it was fully inspected and in working order. perfect! purchased the home and not even a month later the ac wasnāt cooling (it was July btw) so we called butcher as they were the ones to do the inspection the gentleman that came out said our coils were bad and we needed Freon and they needed to be replaced I said I thought you inspected the unit how did they break in less than a month he stated he was the one to do the inspection and he was only told to inspect the outdoor unit and he never went into the attic to inspect the coils and duct work. I was extremely upset and called the office and to save you the longer version and all the details I found out that the owners (sellers) called butcher and asked them to fabricate the inspection and say they did it and it was fine when they really never did it at all except for the outside unit I even have an email from butcher stating they fabricated this invoice and the unit was never fully inspected and that they were asked by the owners (sellers) to do this because the owners said weāre selling the house anyways. Long story short attorneys involved and butcher did not want to go through this process so they let the previous home owners off the hook and replaced the coils at no charge as long as I agreed that was the end of this when originally I requested a whole new unit. I agreed (naive and regretfully so) and now I regret that to the fullest. Now I have to replace my outside unit and had three companies come out to diagnose and everyone of them (before hearing my story) blamed my needing a new unit on the coils being bad for so long prior me purchasing this house. We also called butcher (not identifying ourselves just as a general inquiry) and explained what our unit was doing and told them the coils were replaced two years and they themselves said that was also our problem (the coils being bad for so long because what I didnāt tell you was that the previous owners had butcher come out several times to put Freon in per butcher themselves and the previous renters that informed us of this after I called them to inquire about this issue when I found out we had been lied to) they didnāt even come look at it hmmmmm coincidence doubt it So now Iām out thousands of dollars to replace something I was told was fine. Bottom line I would never recommend or do business with this filthy and dishonest company. If they never would have fabricated the invoice and and just told these crooked previous homeowners that they will not do something dishonest when good hard working people use their service then I (and possibly others who just donāt know it YET) would not be in this completely unavoidable situation. Ā Ā Ā Read moreOn a Saturday evening my Ac unit began to blow warm air, so I called Butchers Air condition I knew it was after hours and that I would have to pay more and that was ok because I had family coming in from out of town. The technician expressed that he would rather come in the morning, but I told him I thought you were 24/7. If he didn't want to do the work maybe they could send someone else. He came out and to make a long story short fixed the Ac unit that only worked for 30 minutes after he had gone. I called back and when the technician called me back he expressed to me what the real problem was and that my unit was old and needed to be replaced. He said a salesmen would call me in the morning. Well I did better than that I called a small local company who came out and found out that I did have warranty replaced the part and got my unit running again, also found out that I did have a leak and that part was on warranty to. They had to order the part and will be there to replace it this week. I spent almost $600 with Butcher Air Conditioning for 30 mins of air and less than half that amount and have air. I believe I charged for replacing a thermostat when that was not the issue. The issue was the outside fan that the technician knew about and chose to put it on my receipt. Instead of fixing the problem. I will never use this company again. And i will advise anyone who use them to always get a second opinion before going spend thousands of dollars on a new unit when you might not...

I am so happy that I hired them because I don't think any other company would have been able to do what they did at my home. I have tongue and groove wood ceilings throughout most of my home which was constructed some time in the late 1940's, 1950's. Beautiful ceilings but it required a unique solution for insulation. It required highly competent, talented people. Let me tell you. Ryan, Paul and their crew were absolutely incredible!! I cannot say enough how impressed I am with how Ryan tackled the problem, came up with a solution, discussed the plan with me, and answered all of my questions with patience and a smile. Not once was he anything but professional and patient addressing all of my concerns. And, the work they did in my attic so professional and so clean. They cleaned the floors in my home because some of the dust that had accumulated in the attic over the many years fell through the cracks in the ceiling onto the floor as they were prepping my attic for insulation. Ryan and Paul made sure that they left my home clean and in tact!. I highly recommend that anyone needing insulation, call Butcher. You will not regret it.
