This cat sanctuary is obviously doing a lot for the cats. I respect that. My partner's cat just passed so I contacted the sanctuary about donating items and they were all for taking it. When I arrived no one would answer the phone, the doors were locked, however I saw someone in a window and I was like hey I have the items for you we I called could I get some help because I have places to be. I have a limited time and I drove from out of town just to bring these items and they repeatedly told me to just leave it by the door and that they weren't going to help me. I asked for help to carry items that they were going to get for free that would help the sanctuary and they wouldn't help me. So I just left all the items by the door. Cat sanctuary 5 stars. I reached out to Blue Bell because I have an elder male cat who has become impossible to live with. He has dementia when he's disoriented, he starts howling at the top of his lungs. It makes living together more than difficult. I began searching everywhere for a place where he could receive more attention than I can give him, and an environment where he could enjoy the rest of his days. Had a great tour with Susan at the Blue Bell Foundation for Cats. As a local realtor, we've always made donations to the Foundation from our fundraiser, the Pet Parade & Chili Cookoff, but I'd never actually been to visit. It was amazing hearing the full story and how it started. These are all elderly and orphaned cats where their owners have passed away or have been moved to a long-term care facility. I think the youngest cat was 12 and the oldest was turning 21 this week! Since they are all old,, they too have medical problems and require medical care, so their expenses are quite high. It was an amazing visit and being the animal lover that I am, I'm hoping to volunteer some of my own time...
