BUYER BEWARE!!! After spending $12,000 which is a lot to me maybe not so much for some but I felt like I should have been treated with a little more respect than I was..had to fight for something as frivolous as to the kind of throw pillows I thought I had ordered..talked to the manager and felt like she copped an attitude with me right off the bat..she said I didn’t order pillows with fringe per the paperwork..but it was definitely pointed out with the sales rep..I don’t feel like it was my fault he didn’t specify FRINGE on the throw pillows on the paperwork..maybe he didn’t know there was a difference between fringe and no fringe..manager said I should have read the paperwork before I signed it..I told her I trusted the sales rep with what he ordered because it was definitely specified as to what we wanted..then she tried to tell me they don’t make them with fringe to what I told her to go look at the ones on the showroom floor then she starts crawfishing..I asked why couldn’t I just switch out the pillows with the ones on the floor..bottom line I got the pillows with the fringe and she apologized..I just don’t feel like I should have had to fight for something as frivolous as fringe on a pillow..is she really wanting to lose a future customer over some fringe..very...
Read moreWarning: Buyer Beware - you may not receive the same quality product as displayed at the LC store. I thought I had bought a couch that had good support, was comfortable, and easy to get up from. What was delivered was a couch with inferior cushions and supports compared to the floor model. It is very uncomfortable and sits as badly as my 12 yr old worn out couch. I still live out of town, so it took a while to realize the problem was poor quality materials. After multiple trips to the store to compare with the floor model, it was obvious something was way off. Since I purchased the warranty, Howell sent someone out to inspect, who commented that sometimes the factory is provided with or uses different materials when constructing the furniture. To me, that means you may not get what you were sold. The store doesn’t deny the discrepancy, but says I took too long to resolve and won’t even switch out with the floor model. So I’m stuck with a very expensive and uncomfortable couch that is difficult to sit on. Thanks for the costly, low quality furniture from Lake Charles Howell store. I’ve got a lot more furniture to buy, but it def won’t be from this store. Save your money and heartache -...
Read moreI purchased a leather loveseat and couch set for $5,000 and also bought the insurance for $500. When the loveseat recliner malfunctioned on one side, I filed a claim. It took the insurance a year to approve my claim! They finally authorized a $2500 credit at Howell for a new furniture piece.
I went and picked out a recliner, and was ready to get it, until the manager of Howell stated that I had to RETURN my BROKEN LEATHER LOVESEAT (that I had fully paid for) to Howell before I could use the credit from the insurance company! I called the insurance company, and they said that it was strictly Howell doing this! I called Howell, and they admitted it was their policy.
That is wrong-doing and false advertising for Howell to sell insurance that Howell manipulates during the claims process, so that they can demand your used furniture to repair it, and make money off of it.
I planned on giving my daughter my old furniture, as she is just starting out in life, and she was not worried about one side not working. So I ultimately ended up having to have a technician repair the old furniture, and essentially, the $500 that I paid for insurance on the set was completely useless,...
