Took my Invicta watch into Doerner Jewelers in Algonquin, IL to have the problem of condensation inside the watch repaired, the watch was inspected and the gasket found to be pinched from a previous battery change, I authorized a new gasket to be install at a cost of 16.00, after waiting at least 20 minutes for the gasket change I was given back a nice clean watch with no condensation in it and current date set. I paid and drove off a few miles down the road I looked at my watch and noticed the crown was missing, (it was not missing in the store) so I got to my destination and looked around my car and found it on the floor of my car, I called and spoke to Cathy and said said she was busy and would call me back, I received no call, I call the next day and explain the problem, was told to bring watch in, I told Cathy it may be later in the week or so because of the holiday. When I dropped it off I was told not to worry and it be taken care of. Now they said its nothing they done and the watch is not repairable. I feel something they did to the watch broke the crown. they did have all the condensation out of the watch so they had more then just the back cover off for this repair, and given the watch was broken as soon as I left something in the repair procedure the jeweler did led to this. Found Gabriele online with other good reviews. Had been few other plac es before Doerner to sell some gold/silver jewelry and some coins. She was very upfront and fair I feel . She even told me to hang on to a wedding ring I wanted to sell bc of worth not great at the momemt with the diamonds. I even went to a few other places just to get quotes and she not knowing gave me way more than the others offered. She doesnt take a huge percentage over what the going rate is for gold/silver.
