Bob's Cabins On Lake Superior — Local services in Lake No. 2

I spent a night here and really wanted to spend more time alas, things were booked up. Funny story.. as I travel I try to 'leave things as I found them'. Around noon, the day I checked out. A very friendly representative called me asking if I even spent the night. I had and I explained my philosophy... I guess I need to start leaving notes because well, the fine people at Bob's Cabins wanted to know so that they could change out whatever I used. It was just a pillow but, I found it AMAZING that they even asked. Great Management and an amazing location that I will visit again.

UPDATE: 2021: I just spent another four nights here (in the same cabin (#9) actually...)) My review remains unchanged. 5 Stars for quiet, peaceful and amazing experiences. Being 'older' I awoke at 2am to use the bathroom and looked out upon the lake out my window. I saw the moon reflecting in the water and I spent another hour and a half doing long exposure photography trying to capture that image. We have been coming here since 1988, through 3 owners, and still love the place. Each owner has made subtle improvements that improve but do not change the general atmosphere. The owners have all been sensative to environmental issues. A very expensive environmentally septic system was installed to assure nothing migrates to the lake. There are waste containers, recycle containers as well as a container for compost in each cabin. Wild natural grasses are encouraged throughout. Each cabin is setup for housekeeping and a BBQ grill is available at each cabin. As the song goes "No phone, no pool, no pets" applys. In a slight bow to modernity, there is internet in the library but you have to sit in the library to use it. Quiet, relaxing, with the sound of the lake right outside your door, just a great place to unwind and dream of a simpler time. Best place...

We have stayed at Bob's Cabins for several years. It is a perfect getaway with cabins just steps from Lake Superior. You can read about the fine print on their website, which is informative and well done (like everything at Bob's).

You will find their pricing to be much lower than the competition. What you don't get is fancy granite countertops, fancy appliances, etc. The beds are comfy, and the cabins are immaculate. Not just clean--immaculate.

It is not a place for loud partiers. It is the place if you like watching and listening to the lake, reading, and otherwise enjoying the Minnesota Miracle that is the North Shore.

The owners are kind, responsive, pretty much the embodiment of Minnesota Nice in the best sort of way.
