Netty Dami African Hair Braiding — Local services in Lake Township

This review is about the owner Netty not about the stylists. Netty is a very rude and disrespectful person. I have been coming to this shop for over a year now and I encounter Netty in the shop for the 1st time just a few months ago when I was 7 months pregnant and she was trying to fight me in front of the clients just because one of the stylist was to fix my daughter's hair that was done 5 days prior and already becoming untidy. Now I have never dealt with Netty and had no idea of who she was when she stepped up to me, my mom and 3 year old daughter screaming and hollering that the stylist can only fix one braid. Valerie, the stylist who does my hair, and the other stylists had to step in and tell Netty that that's not how you talk to people after insulting me and all. Because I deal with Valerie and we have become cool I still kept coming here after my mom begged me not to cut ties with her just because of the douche owner. Fast forward 2 months and here I am again needing to do my hair. Called Valerie, made an appointment for 8am next morning just to get to the shop and find out that Netty impersonated Valerie. Come to find out that Valerie was on vacation and Netty never told me and acted as if she was Valerie. Netty didn't even bother to come to the shop and sent someone else. We got Netty on the phone and she had the audacity to tell me to go and leave her shop if I only want Valerie to do my hair. I was appalled. What kind of business owner treats clients like this??? I'd advise you to stay away from this place, Netty does not deserve clients. I hope the stylists find a better place to work because if Netty keeps this arrogant rude disrespectful attitude on, she will be left with...

been coming here on and off for YEARS. Valerie is GOOD hands down (honestly shes the only reason why i come). But today I was UNSATIFIED with her service. My appointment (I was slightly earlier than my appointment.) And we did not start until 9:15. Why because she has started on somebody else's head. Once we FINALLY got started, Valerie was on the phone for a good hour shouting to whom ever she was on the phone with.(normally shes pretty quiet and fast) I made the appointment with the owner who told me for my hair it would be 150. I say ok. Valerie finishes my hair and I inquire about being compensated for my time. She proceeds to call the owner who explains that the style was more than stated and she "gave me the discount" for my wait already. There wasnt. Im not complaining about the price. Im complaining about how unprofessional their business handling skills are. If I call dor a service and you provide me with a price. Dont change it when i arrive. I dont like how I call for a service and then you try to charge more I did not enjoy how your cackling and yelling pulled attention from finishing my hair quicker. Or the fact that you were "double booked". You all need to do so much better. The only redeeming factor is my hair...

I came to this establishment and asked the stylist did they know how to do crochet braids. They told me yes and I made an appointment. This stylist did not know how to do crochet. She left numerous holes showing my scalp; even though she used 9 bags of hair! I was very, very disappointed in her work and told her so! A week later, I went to another shop down the street from them; so they could close up the big part in the middle of my head. Then, the new stylist filled up a lot spaces; showing my scalp!
