The meat department looks clean, friendly behind the counter and the meat is fresh and fair priced. The store as a whole could use updating, but at least a good cleaning. Also, if you have never been there before, be careful of the dips in the floor. The food in the deli has always, for me, came out tasty! However, on occasion(rare, but happens) you will get an employee that seems put out to make you a pizza. And, if you're going to want a pizza with chicken, you need to know that in the morning! then let them know so they make enough chicken! Seriously they ask you to do this :/ If you go in at 3 and the chicken is low, they don't offer to make more, you're just out of luck! :( other than that the store has a wide variety, prices are a bit high but it's what you pay for convenience. I came in the other day to purchase some beef heart. When I placed my order at the counter with one of the young men, Kenny began his speech with his back to me. People like me who only buy beef heart and beef bones, Never even bother to look in the meat case and Never buy anything out of it. How he’s put his heart and soul into it and I can’t even bother to look. 54 years…. On and on. His male staff and the male customers just stared at me. I felt as though I had trespassed into a good old boys club and I definitely was not welcome. Look they got it all, only spot around the entire lake I could find gumbo file (if anyone knows what spice that is) more than affordable. One of the best meat market/butchers I have gone too. Always seem to have a special going on, and the deli is Fabulous!!! Sandwiches FAT thick with meat and made to go with your preferred order! Yum! Be sure to share as they are HUGE. Employees are always accommodating to a level of extreme customer service and take care of each other (as per personal noticed) good staff, good unique &even hard to find grocery items plus great butchery.
