BEST EXPERIENCE EVER!! Our family loves to kayak. We have used several different rental places. APK is the best rental place we've ever used. It's tucked in between large trees. Very shaded. Once you see that huge surf board that says APK and their PINK headquarters...you've found this gem. Zack and Ellis are extremely personable and knowledgeable of the lake. Zack didn't assume we were new or even veterans at this. He promptly asked if we've done this before to get a feel of our knowledge, which I highly respect. They explained all the areas on a map. He went through safety. Told us about the best places to have fun and swim, eat and drink, plus where you can park your rental boat when you get off. Equipment was excellent. Well taken care of. They have a couple large lily pads to hangout on and swim area after your rental. They will be adding new water toys soon. Both owners were fun to talk to. We went on a Tuesday at 11:30am. The water was perfect. Jumped off a cliff (be careful). Can't thank them enough for all the tips. God Bless your venture..we can't wait to see y'all...

Staff All of the staff were so friendly, welcoming and reassuring. The young lady welcomed our two small dogs with treats! They introduced their resident fur-baby, Indy, as well. Zach provided a small life vest for my sister's chihuahua. I drove 2.5 hours to get there and then got cold feet about kayaking solo, but Zach reassured me and my sister that we were more than capable of handling the kayaks alone (out on the open water). After our 1.5hour adventure we were very thirsty, it was very sweet of the Hostess to offer us water/mini gatorades. They truly created a pleasurable memorable experience.

Equipment The kayaks were in good condition and dry, which was a plus. We wanted a Pedal Cruiser and was told it wasn't available, may have been a miscommunication.

Atmosphere The water was a pretty deep blue and we saw a turtle! lol The rock cliffs and hills add to the serene environment. We went on a Sunday around 4p, there weren't many other...

Great place to rent kayaks from!! Had to reschedule and even though they use email communication versus a phone, Zach helped change the date and it was super easy and no issue at all. It happened to rain the day we were scheduled, stopped 30 minutes before our reservation and he let us know he would be right there when we pulled up with it still closed. Zach was very friendly and informative with the area and what we had access to out on the lake and let us know if we wanted to go longer it would be perfectly fine just a 30 minute rate over what I reserved. Great rates, great equipment ( including kayaks you can fish from which was great since Lake Travis doesn’t have many piers except residents who live on the lake). He has snacks, beverages, even sunscreen you can purchase before heading out if you forget anything. 10/10 would recommend going, a little difficult to get to but that’s just the neighborhood so be cautious...

Austin Pedal Kaysks is a real gem on lake Travis. Zach does a great job accommodating your wants and needs. They have several pedal Kaysks that are great for fishing or getting to see more of Hurst Creek then you might otherwise see. Plenty of single and double paddle Kaysks and paddle boards if that’s how you want to get around. If you are new to paddling on Lake Travis be sure to pay attention to the wind. Start by paddling into the wind so if you get tired it will blow you back to the dock. Bring a waterproof bag for your phone. You will want to take pictures. Have fun! I sure did.

Super fun and affordable! We came here on a Saturday morning and it was not busy at all. The staff are so helpful and kind. Rentals are by the hour and then half hour, and you just pay once you are done (so you don’t have to worry about booking for too long or too little). Lots of kayaks and paddle boards. They have bottles water you can buy there too if you need. It’s a very calm relaxing way to experience Lake Travis
