It's hard to know where to start with Lost Parrot Cabins. We just came back from 4 relaxing days at this wonderful place in Lakeway.||||We were in Austin and used our GPS to find the Lost Parrot. We were a little unsure as we turned down Storm Drive and found it unpaved part of the way and maneuvered through the potholes! What we found at the end of the road was breathtaking!||||The Lost Parrot is one of the coolest places we have ever stayed. The cabins are all painted differently with bright, happy colors and Mexican folk art everywhere you look. As we walked into the grounds we were greeted by the hostess, Trish and taken to our cabin (The Mango).||||The cabin was large, full kitchen, great patio, TV and wonderfully furnished/decorated. ||||It was cold when we go there and we told Trish "We just want to sit out on the patio, drink wine, and play cards". It wasn't long before Trish came to tell us that they had set up some heaters on the main patio for us to use and enjoy. This was so thoughtful and it really did make it warm enough to sit out until the sun went down!||||Trish is an amazing hostess and is so genuine in taking care of her guests. She makes every guest feel right at home and is caring with all of the details.||||We had originally planned on staying only 2 nights but ended up staying a 3rd! Since the Mango was booked for a new guest Trish gave us a tour and said we could choose from a couple of other cabins that were available. We chose the Mermaid cabin and were not disappointed! The cabin was great, the best was super comfortable and again...very well decorated with happy colors and folk art in every turn!||||The last day we were there it finally warmed up and Trish and Rick invited us down to the pool for some music in the evening. We joined them around 8 and the music, fire, camaraderie were so special. Sitting out listening to great music, star gazing, and making new friends were what stood out for us during our visit.||||If you are looking for a special place to make special memories. The Lost Parrot is it. The love and care in this place is unlike anything else you will experience...
Read moreLet me rant about this place right quick. This wasn't our first choice we chose to stay in. The booking we had fell through and I was freaking out because it was a week before my trip, I found this place on AIRBNB and the posting wasn't detailed so I was worried but I just booked it. I got here right at check in time and Ms. Catherine met me in the front, she showed me around a bit and gave me all the info I needed. We went in our little home away from home and it was so dang beautiful! There was so much spots to see and the inside was very clean, it felt so homey. The room was spacious and the porch was huge!! It had a full kitchen equipped with all the things you needed to cook with. The restroom was full of tons of towels, they had a closet to hang your stuff with extra pillows and covers to use. They had two heaters just in case it was cold which we did end up using and it was perfect. The pool was beautiful but we couldn't get in it because it was too cold! But we did use the jacuzzi which could use a little cleaning but I figured the trees blew everything on the water. It was awesome just relaxing, the property was super quiet and hidden way from any traffic noise. All you heard was the trees, the birds and the wind. There was parking o. The property, not to big but good enough. The whole property was clean and it had so much too see, they had a BBQ pit just in case someone wanted to cook out. They also had an area so people can have a bonfire which was nice. In the back they had a small trail which we walked and also found a beautiful stream down the path. The host never bothered us nor the neighbors. It was so quiet, which I loved. It was paradise in a little community. The only thing that was a small problem was the shower, we couldn't get it to stay at a normal temp for long. Other than that I have no complaints for this place. I uploaded so many pictures to my FB and everyone is asking where it is and you best believe I am telling them and recommending them to this gorgeous place. This will definitely NOT be my last visit. I will...
Read moreI’ve been wanting to go here for a while and finally got my chance recently while I was in the Austin area. I took my friend who lives in Austin for an overnight stay-cation. We were not disappointed. The property is so relaxing! We went up the road about a mile in the evening to have dinner (and bring leftovers back to the cabin) at Lucy’s Fried Chicken. ||||Since we had the whole place to ourselves the night we stayed, Trish let us look at different rooms and pick the one we wanted. We originally booked the Mango Moon but after seeing the Mermaid room decided we liked it better so stayed in that one. The rooms were all immaculately clean!!||||The room was so nice with a big comfy king bed, futon couch, gas fireplace, big bathroom and kitchenette with snacks provided. Nice big porch with fans, hammock, rockers and table. This was really nice for evening wine and morning coffee.||||The pool area is really cool with lots of seating, a stage, fire pit (wood provided!), and hot tub. It was too cold to use the pool, but the hot tub was really nice at night. It was nice having it to ourselves too, I can’t really see more than 2 people in it unless you don’t mind being really close! The only bummer was the rubber duckies were not around the hot tub when we were there. ||||The property has BBQ, lots of seating areas for hanging out, eating, playing games, cards, etc. There’s an outdoor BYO bar with a fridge, a huge TV and a ton of movies you can borrow to take to your room. There’s also a bunch of cool art and décor all around the property that’s all done in a really tasteful way. ||The hard work they obviously put into this place really pays off. ||||I can’t wait until I can go back, would love to rent the whole place out when it’s warm enough to swim in...
