Presidential Transportation School Bus — Local services in Lakewood Township

On 8/14/25, I was traveling on the Pennsylvania Turnpike at approximately 70 mph when I encountered a dangerously reckless maneuver by a school bus. The bus was stopped on the right-hand shoulder. Without warning, the driver pulled directly into the travel lane from a dead stop, forcing me to brake hard and swerve to avoid a collision.

This happened on a high-speed stretch of highway where merging from a complete stop is both unsafe and illegal without ensuring the lane is clear. Considering the bus was full of children, the driver’s decision was even more alarming. They not only put their own passengers at risk but also endangered every vehicle around them.

Professional drivers—especially those responsible for children—should know better than to pull into 70 mph traffic without proper timing or safety checks. This was a frightening experience and a clear example of dangerous driving that should be addressed by the bus company and authorities before it leads to tragedy.

Do not use this bus service!!!! This place is ridiculous!!! All the kids were standing up not sitting no seatbelts!!! I have to say I sit by the corner bus stop every morning and am so beyond grateful we are part of the presidential bus company! There is no other company as consistent, as friendly, as safe as the drivers from presidential. In particular my daughter has had Luciana and Jen and they are two of the most genuine and kind people.
