Me, my wife and a good friend went golfing here for the first time on a Friday a couple weeks back. It was our first time golfing this season and only did the back 9 while walking. It was a beautiful day and we were all excited to enjoy some golf. None of us are very good but we all have our own clubs and like to play a lot during the summer and fall. The course was beautiful and very well taken care of. However by the second hole the marshal was already hounding us about picking up the pace. There was a twosome in front of us using a cart and a foursome behind us using carts. We were walking and didn’t have any choice of how they organized it. Also I must say that the people behind us were never once close to us. We were able to tee off and get to the green before they made their appearance at the tee box. I thought we were doing pretty good for walking and being relatively inexperienced. After the fourth hole the marshal again stopped us to say “You really need to pick up the pace, you’re holding everyone up.” I looked behind us to see the foursome just teeing off on the hole we just finished. The twosome in front of us on a cart was long gone but that should be expected considering we’re a group of three and walking. I was shocked and disappointed that this great golf course would treat us this way. We were talking prior about coming every week to play here but the marshal made the entire round unenjoyable. We pretty much ran the last five holes and had no fun whatsoever. If you are walking or not an expert golfer I would not recommend this course to you. I will not be returning here again unfortunately which is sad because the course...
Read moreIt hurts me to say this, but after 4 loyal years of playing this course, I will not be playing anymore. While playing a Monday afternoon me and my business partner were distracted by a dog running from the patio and onto the course. The dog ran onto the green next to us and actually started grabbing the peoples ball. We didn't see the owner for about 3 minutes, and ourselves wondered if this was safe to tee off around loose animals. However the dogs owner finally made his way (walking) to the green to get his dog. We thought it was over at this point, as he walked back to the patio. After teeing off, we ourselves are on the green when we hear an employee of the restaurant come out and start yelling at the people whom were on the green, as they were getting into their car. We watched (even filmed) the employee get into a customers face, and even proceed to call her name after name. We used to play here because it was quite, and calm. After seeing dogs run on greens, and employees yell insults at customers.... I feel embarrassed knowing I brought my business partner to "My favorite spot". I would encourage anyone to stay far away from this place. ESPECIALLY with young ones or other...
Read moreGood setting with views of the foothills, Red Rocks and downtown. The course was in very good shape too with some challenging holes.
Unfortunately, it's an executive course clocking in at par 65 and 5,098 from the back tees. This obviously setups great for shorter or senior hitters, but really the course is not manageable to play on. Pace of play is excruciating slow. Not really the fault of management just whoever designed this course in the first place. 7, yes 7 par 3's including -back to back- par 3's leads to awful logjams. Add on short and drivable par 4s where you're waiting for them to get near or off the green and you're easily pushing 5.5 hours for 18. I never experienced this before but our group got par 3-fatigued. The course didn't have a good flow.
They don't advertise it as an executive course, just a "short championship course" which is a true paradox. I should've looked at the scorecard beforehand but just assumed with the course quality it would be a standard setup. But now I know what entails and probably wouldn't come back. Overall recommend it if you're a shorter hitter and just want a nice round of golf...
