Den At Fox Hollow — Restaurant in Lakewood

Appetizers were brought out right before meal. Not enough for everyone at our party. Oops, we didn't transfer the menu over to the Den' s event planner correctly. The cheese and salami board was good. However, the wait staff picked it up and took it back into the kitchen, and there was still food on that platter. It should have been moved out with the rest of our food so we could have had more. A couple of the staff were rude at times, telling people to move away from the main entrees while they were setting it up. They could've been a little more polite The food had good flavor, yet portion sizes were below last year's. The majority of the food was cold, even though it had just come out of the kitchen. Granted the majority of our group was starving and couldn't wait for it all to be placed.The butternut ravioli was a mess, all different sizes, and some of it was tough. The prime rib appeared way too small and thin. Maybe a better description on the menu would have help. Granted, we could go back for more. Vegetables were cold. Again our impatience probably played a large role in that, as people towards the back of the line didn't have cold vegetables. Staff was very prompt and organized when told to start shutting things down. Water and tea were removed and could have been left out until the very end. I understand that the 'bar' should have been closed, due to some of our concerns for some of our groups partaking. We held our club Christmas party here last year and everything was fabulous. The staff was friendly and didn't make you feel rushed. Unlike tonight. When the club decides to come back again next year, I hope that they will be the friendly, courteous staff that we've had in the past and except for the couple this year that weren't on point. I know we changed our format, silent auction, awards and guessing games, so that all of our club members could have a great night as well. May have given the impression of...

The food is fantastic and prices seem correct in these crazy times. I’m sad to say their service was lacking. Although friendly the timing was not great. I watched three other parties sit down after myself and receive their breakfast before me. I was solo. The breakfast was simple but English muffins came out after I was done. Again food was great but I felt very overlooked. I had to go in to pay and found out they were trying to charge me for a coffee I didn’t order. I hope my next experience is a bit better. I thought it might have to do a short staffing in these times but they were able to get the other food out just fine. Update… Again had to go inside to finally pay. Was handed someone else’s receipt. We were overlooked again due to short staff. No drink refills, silverware came after our food, and home fries were so overcooked they were un-edible. I’m still leaving four stars because I love the den, I just hope they can...

We just had our Green Mountain High School 1985 Class Reunion in the outdoor Pavilion and WOW! The staff and food and ambiance were wonderful. The staff helped us set up and tear down including removing hanging decorations. Additionally, they ensured the food was always replaced and service was taken care. Our music and photo booth people were taken care of as well so we could have great music and pictures taken! The chef prepared wonderful food and everyone loved it. Also, our group drank plenty and the cash bar handled everyone very well! The outdoor pavilion was a great venue. Somehow the bugs were kept at bay, the evening breeze kept it cool, and the lights were such beautiful lighting! We were able to talk, dance and have fun!
