Unsatisfactory Weapons Suppressor Buying Experience

I bought a suppressor from the Gun shop. It’s a rather involved process requiring special government applications. The entire process, from application to suppressor pickup was disappointing. When I went to pickup the suppressor I was handed the closed box “here you go”. Didn’t offer to show me what I had purchased. I opened the box and asked a few basic questions. To sum up the help I got was “I don’t know…” there was no offer to research anything, they just told me to call the Silencer Shop.

I was the only one in the shop, as far as I could tell they weren’t đoing anything. Certainly not too busy to at least “act” like they were interested.

I had heard the government was taking up to a year to approve suppressors. They took only a week for mine! Five Star review for the ATF! But it took the gun shop over 2 months to submit the electronic form! As I was leaving they told me I was lucky it only took 2.5 months to get my suppressor…But if the gun shop was as efficient as the government I would have my suppressor in 2 weeks!

I stop in every few weeks on my way through Lampasas to pick up feed for some family horses further north. They have a great selection of clothing, boots, hats and gifts and a much better price on feed than where I live. I have been wearing a mask since last March when covid hit and I have continued wearing one because I was going through chemo and had a compromised immune system. I have never seen an employee at Hoffpauir's wear a mask. I might have missed some, since I only come in every couple of weeks. I went in a couple of weeks ago, wearing my mask and got such a weird look from the staff at the counter. I realize I am not a regular and I know what living in a small town is like. I grew up in one. I don't have to explain myself or why I wear a mask and I don't expect to be judged by others. I thought the cashier who rang up my order was going to laugh out loud. I felt very unwelcome and will go to the other feed store downtown...

Lee, I hope you read these reviews. Let me start by saying this is not for the store, dock or their people, have been buying feed from you for years and they are all 5 stars. This review Is for the gun shop. I had a 30/06 I wanted to trade in. Was carrying it in, will admit I wasn't giving much thought as to how I was carrying it. The guy at the gun shop saw me coming and could have said "watch where you point that thing. However, waited until I was up to him, grabbed the rifle out of my hands and said" Let me have that, you have pointed it to that guy twice already". The guy was the S&W salesman, I guess he was trying to impress, might have impressed him, sure as hell didn't impress me. Hope you see this, thanks for letting me vent.
