I love this outreach, I like all of the staff and wonderful volunteer workers. I like the organization that's in place, I like all the stores and companies involved, and I like all of Manna's philosophies and rules. BUT, I had a run-in with top management, Susan, to be exact (there's another Susan, but not in top management). I was homeless for 10 weeks this year. I moved in with my sister in Lansdale, to help her and work for her. She was kind enough to take me in, but there were unforeseen conflicts and I became homeless. When I explained my trouble with the staff they were quick to help me, but, Susan, who is in top management there, wouldn't talk, instead yelled at me. The more I tried to talk the more she yelled, uncalled for yelling. I think yelling, when you can calmly talk, is very rude. I persisted to talk calmly, she got louder and slowly walked toward the lobby where other homeless people were sitting (I got the bad feeling she was trying to scare some of them). She kept insisting I didn't belong there. I had no place to go to, no family and no friends. I had slept in my car and charging hotels to my charge cards. I was going to be on the street soon. (I was ill, but told no one because I had not been diagnosed.) If you walk inside Manna on Main Street's front doors you will see wonderfully framed pictures and sayings of their beginnings, I just love reading them. I am very grateful for this outreach to the homeless, I got showers there, got free bread, meals and some food from the pantry, when I needed it most. Because of Susan in top management, I ended up seeking out other outreaches in the surrounding...
Read moreThey have dinner every night of the week. They have the good shelf you have to go and register with them you can'tjust walk in. Ass well when you register you can't walk in right after and get food you have to wait till the next time they are open. They also have a huge huge list of resources for homelessto cheap housing to drs to peer counseling. They do their best to set you up the best they can. I was homeless for 17 months I visited places life this in west chester and Cloatesville. This one is by far the best nut just because location but access to resources. If your struggling I would highly recommend you visit them if you live in...
Read moreMy family and I have been extremely blessed since finding Manna's food market. Nothing negative to say about this place. All the volunteers here have been very kind and understanding. No judgment felt being a young adult w/disabilities. Often they have a wonderful variety of foods, which has been helpful with allergies. Always encouraged to grab your healthy salad greens when available! Everything received has been such a blessing. Never need to sleep hungry anymore. Thank you to those in the community who make this possible. Thank you Manna!! Love from my family to...
