Walking into the facility I was first greeted warmly by Coaches Liv and Derek. Derek is a Laramie local and lifelong athlete. Certified crossfit and ninja warrior coach, he was happy to explain how to safely attack an obstacle or use fitness equipment.
The right side of the gym has all of the state of the art equipment one would need for a HIIT workout/Olympic lifts/powerlifting. Including a full set of dumbbells, kettlebells, bumper plates, Rogue racks and all the ergs you could ask for. Also there is a 40yd astroturf lane with weight sleds for speed work.
The left side of the gym has all the ninja warrior training rigs. With six lanes, they rotate the obstacles every week so you're always challenged. I got my butt whooped trying to swing from a straight bar and catch a hanging net. The left wall of the gym has four vert walls at 8,10,12,14.5 ft. Towards the back there is a decent sized rock wall for training finger strength and modular padding for balance training.
Coming from a big city, It's quite a treat to have a state of the art performance fitness training facility like this in Laramie. A place where you can train AND test out how "functionally fit" you are. It's a place where adults and kids can go play and develop their...
Read moreNinja workout location for adults that also has equipment kids can use. Good spot for having athletic kids get exercise in poor weather while the adults get a workout.
There is a section for eating up front and you can bring your own drinks or snacks to eat on the picnic tables. There is a row of couches to watch from. One of them has a loose back that falls over; be cautious when sitting there. Clean environment. I don’t know if they’re sanitizing the equipment daily, which would be hard to do on the rings and bars. Bathrooms were clean. Staff was very nice.
There is a running track and some treadmills on one side. The ninja equipment is in the middle with rings and rungs. The back has additional ninja activities like balance beams and barrel rolls. There are timers for some...
Read moreWe were visiting from out of town and saw LEAP when I was driving by. I have three boys that love American Ninja Warrior, so knew we had to to add this to our agenda for the week. Derek was out on the floor helping some kids when I called but immediately sent me a text to answer my questions. We came in the next day and coach John helped each of the boys learn how to navigate the different obstacles. My kids were begging to go back, so we ended up taking them the next day as well. The staff is incredibly friendly and equipment is top notch. I only wish we had a place of this caliber in St. Louis.
Pretty sure my kids will not allow us to visit Laramie anymore without making...
