Really awesome hike.
I did this hike from the Parkman's Plain parking lot, like it shows on the AllTrails app, but you can also access this canyon from the visitor center (a 4 mile total instead of 2).
Lots and lots of steps to go down, and then up on the way back (I counted 174), and the rest of the trail, was a very flat and even surface, with some tree roots. Some icy spots, especially at the beginning, since it's winter.
Very pretty along the river (it was frozen and there were a lot of cool zigzags formed by the snow and ice), and when you get to LaSalle Canyon itself, it's all just...spectacular. Not only is the canyon long and very interesting, the waterfall that has frozen was really beautiful.
The waterfall is easy to get down to and you can actually walk behind it. It was just very cool.
