"Too busy. Not friendly. Dangerous parking lot. Most expensive produce." That's what I wrote in my 2 star review 4 years ago. Yesterday I found by phone calls that Weis' pharmacy is currently the only pharmacy near me in North Laurel that has 2 vaccines I needed, the "Shingrix" shingles vaccine and the Phizer COVID covalent booster update. I made an appointment with really friendly, helpful pharmacy lady on the phonne for the booster, and went to this Weis this morning at 10:30 for the first time in 4 years. The store now looks clean and bright, but it was near empty, and few employees were working. Only two registers were open, and the customer service desk and the pharmacy. I walk poorly, even with a cane, because of arthritis, but I couldn't find any electric shopping carts. I asked the 2 register supervisors standing together to guard the self service registers about the electric carts. They told me the store has only one, and it's in use, which is shocking! At the pharmacy desk, I reported to a "technician" behind the counter to get the COVID booster. She asked for my I.d., insurance card, credit card, and vaccine record card, and told me there were some forms to fill out. The latter surprised me because yesterday I completed 4 pages of forms on line to get the vaccine, and that seemed like too much then, but now I found it wasn't even enough. This tech took 15 minutes to finish with my paperwork and hers, which was absurd. There were no other pharmacy customers there but me in the 30 plus minutes to complete the Weis vaccine transaction! I had to repeatedly ask got all my cards back, because I didn't trust the rude clerk not to lose them. I got really frustrated when she at the end told me she had given back all my cards, when I thought she still had my shot record. She finally said she thought I was asking for my driver's license back. She said, oh, I still have your shot record. This clerk was incompetently trained, at the least. Then the pharmacist came out after I had been cooling my heels for another 10bminutes in the tiny waiting area. He expertly and painlessly administered my vaccine. I grilled him to make sure I was getting the proper booster I needed. I was kind of surprised to learn that he gave me the one I asked for. I discussed my dissatisfaction with the pharmacy experience with him. He seemed to understand. I told him I was not ever returning, even for the shingles vaccine I needed. I left disgusted. I had a pleasant discussion with a hard working man gathering shopping carts. He told me the obvious fact that the store has terrible customer service, and that they can't find enough employees, only ones who don't want to do much work. There was a panhandler sitting in the road showing his sign in Spanish to anybody who would look. The sign said, "Give me money." He sat there begging from customers all morning with no hassle from Weis staff, before going to lunch...
Read moreMy recent experience: walked in the find zero carts or baskets in the front of the store. They were all in the parking lot. But where were the baskets? I'll give them a pass since it was 9:30 pm. Ask two associates (one of whom was just sitting down, chatting, and ignoring me; maybe he was off the clock?) where the fresh made salsa was-- "the one that's not in a jar" and both showed me the salsa in a jar. I guess that's not super clear. So I'll give them a pass. I found it myself. I gather my items (carrying them all in my arms since there were no carts/baskets) and check out. Two of my items (seasoning packets) were marked on sale for .20 cents off. They didn't ring up properly. I don't want to be that guy who says something about .40 cents so I let it pass. I have difficulty exiting around two of the employees who are hanging out in the exit aisle. Finally out and home. Phew. Open my ground turkey to make dinner after preping with two other items I purchased and the turkey is absolutely rancid. I scold myself for purchasing the turkey on top instead of looking around. I take it back to the store and go to customer service. I'm standing behind the manager who is chatting with his employees while trying to gain access to the customer service desk. My multiple "excuse me"s are ignored for about a minute. He finally moves. Tell the customer service representative what happened. She says I can't return them only exchange because it's after 10:00 pm. It's 10:02 pm. If only the manager hadn't been ignoring me I may have gotten there on time. I accept the exchange. She tells me to "just go get the stuff you want" and resumes talking to her coworkers. I walk around the store and gather my things and she hands me a bag...
Read moreFalse advertisement everywhere.. Rude manager that I delt with and could have easily made everything right! The cashier even was sure I was going to get the special sale price because no one took down the sale table, and was obviously posted at that price, but instead the manager said sorry but you have to pay full price. The cashier, was a very nice person, even told the manager "you should just give him the price it's not that big a deal it is misleading on that sale table someone should have took it down." I've been going to Weis for years before hand there's always been a policy in place that if it is posted a certain price they have to honor it no matter what! Really, the policy was to get the product Free of cost due to misrepresentation of the price, and that's one of the reasons I loved Weis at one point. Every once in awhile when I was a kid my dad would be in this situation and I remember him getting everything free of charge after he proved it was in the wrong spot or was mislabeled beyond his control. Of course, only on the sale items that were Misrepresented. Just saying that, being 31 years old, I've been going there for over 20 years. Now, after, I realize everything is priced $0.50 to a dollar more than Food Lion and other markets....never go to Weis! Unless they stick to there values and morals which I did...
