It’s only getting worse especially the icu, how do some of these people even get put on a critical care team and not have much knowledge of anything? I know nurse practitioners that have studied actual specialist medical professions way longer than some of these icu drs. Only 1 dr that I know of that is still there through every messy change has always done a great job. The dr that took me into the er got me on the correct path, the so called experts, flipped everything around and obviously I started getting worse, the dr that has been there for years was there early in the morning and seen the nursing staff had let everything go, a wonderful nurse from the start was with him and they bother got my glucose back down to where I would eat, then the 2 the have zero knowledge wanted me to eat more carbs and I refused to eat unless they corrected the high of 258 at that point then give me enough insulin to cover the carbs he wanted me to eat and I told him that it would put me near perfect levels if no in perfect levels and he disagreed with me and I told him then just send me home because from this point I know what to do. He still said I was wrong but I can easily show that my glucose has been perfect since I was basically forced to leave unfortunately because of bad drs that aren’t very knowledgeable especially to be in an icu… Now if you have a rare disease the bad drs have no desire to even learn the basics of it. Everyone can look it up that doesn’t have t1d and already know that illness and or infection can cause dka, even food poisoning, pain and well all sorts of things. He said that the way my endocrinologist told that how I self adjust was wrong until I told him that was an endo and asked if he would like to tell him he is wrong, he called a gastroenterologist an idiot for say stomach bacteria was the likely cause of dka a few years ago. Anyway I caught him twisting and lying as well as the worst nurse in there that allowed me to keep getting worse throughout the night and even had my saline drip turned way down letting me get dehydrated again, gave me carbs without any insulin etc. They need to do something about this hospital quickly or many are going to die needlessly for lack of knowledge of critical conditions and like I said, if it’s one that is terminal such as my nuro autoimmune disease that they have never heard of they just don’t care to understand how one can effect the others especially the nuro disease and the effects it can have on my heart and every muscle in my body as well as my t1d. Which makes it that all have to be treated if they all start setting one another off. Just get these drs out of there and more knowledgeable drs in. Dr cheek, you were amazing as always, brook you by far the best nurse. Alexa the aid is a very sweet person and the rest of you older nasty and mean narcissistic people need to stop bullying the good aid and nurses that want to be nice but are scared to get in trouble if they say anything about how you treat patients and bully them to. Don’t like the job find a new career. Most drs these days only see a money sign and never a...
Read moreI was transported by EMS to the ER for a GI bleed. The nurses were very attentive because they knew I was on a blood thinner but that's where it ends. My daughter is my very first contact on who to call they did not pick up the phone and call my daughter thank God she came from work to see me. And I told them I also had a severe UTI coming on. So they got me up to a room and I was there from Monday till Thursday. Most of the staff were nice and cordial but there's one nurse on staff that just thought she had to run the whole show and make it about her and when I was upset after I came back from a partial procedure and I was upset she was like being very rude to me. Then Thursday rolls around and they're like trying to get me up at the crack of dawn to take my meds to eat some breakfast to get cleaned up and I'm like what's going on? All they would tell me was that I had to be ready to go and out the door by noon I told them I did not have a ride and they said well your daughter works just down the road and I'm like she cannot take me home I said can I please have one of the EMS take me home because they've done that before well they totally ignored me and said that I had to take catch a ride and that I had to be out of my room by 12:00 because catch a ride was going to be there at 12:15 and I also had to pay for it and I told them I said I didn't come in here with any ID any money and you're telling me I have to pay for this ride? So they put me on the elevator with one of the aides she would not even let me roll my wheelchair she was pushing me so fast she took me to the pharmacy to get my meds and then ran me down that long hallway on the first floor as fast as she can because she wouldn't even let me roll and they're shoving me in a catch a ride when I wasn't ready to go home and finally the nurse it was on duty finally sticks her head in the window and says I hope you're doing okay and everything works out and she was the one that was the drill sergeant this hospital I have always stuck up for and gave good reviews but not this time I won't recommend this hospital I won't recommend Dr Cowan who was on night shift doctor because he wouldn't even listen to me about my antibiotics and they actually gave me an antibiotic that put me into an itching fit and they said there was nothing wrong which I was scratching myself so hard blood was coming to the top so my arms so don't take your family there I don't recommend it anymore. One good thing was I had a very good doctor the first night I was there her name was Dr Stone so that's another good thing that's it!! Listen to your patients !!!because I had been going to this hospital for...
Read moreI had been sick for a week. Fever, night sweats, achy, swollen lymph nodes and general weakness. Didn't have sinus issues or loss of taste. So I gave in, and my wife took me to the ER early the morning of July 5th. The triage person and security were very helpful. Triage took great notes and wrote down my symptoms. I was taken back to an overflow room with no sheet on the bed, and told that there were only two patients and a doctor would be with me shortly. The Doctor came in and sat down in a chair. He had a mask on and did not introduce himself. His first question was, had I taken anything recently. I replied yes my prescribed pain medicine. The doctor spent the next ten minutes telling me how bad I was for taking pain medication. He didn't read anything from my chart or intake notes. At no time had I asked for pain medication. He said that I have zero pain tolerance and I probably had the flu. I told him I have chronic kidney stones and I pass at least one a year. The doctor replied " all St. Elizabeth doctors have kidney stones because of how hard they are worked and poor hydration". I then asked him if I could get back to the reason I was there in the first place. He asked the same question twice about loosing my taste. My wife and I replied no both times. I had a red welt above all of my lymph nodes. I showed him. He replied fine, we will do an entire workup. As he was walking out of the room he yelled "I will start with and EKG and test everything". He went straight in to the other patient's room and continued asking her for her number and email. My wife was with me the entire time. A staff member walked in with the mobile registration cart. I then asked if I could talk to my wife because I wasn't sure if I was staying. The staff member replied you wouldn't be the first one tonight to leave. We agreed I shouldn't stay and walked out. I could barely walk by myself. No one even tried to help me out or talk to me about staying. I left a short message to risk management about Dr. Platt. Not one returned phone call. Finally a week later I receive a form letter from St. Elizabeth. I called the number on the letter and left three messages. I have called the patient support line for Dearborn three times and left messages. Still not one returned call. Now I am receiving full bills for this visit. I was never admitted or signed in the hospital. I went to Ft Thomas ER and they were wonderful. Focused blood tests and no EKG........ I had...
