Sweet 16 Lanes — Local services in Le Mars

The lanes are nice except for the fact that the floor was sticky in spots and I fell down hard the first time that I slid to throw my ball. Had it been an older person, that could have ended badly! The prices are not too bad, but the customer service is horrible. The last time that we went there with our kids, there were two teenage boys working and the place was pretty busy. One of the boys spent more time in the bathroom on his phone than behind the counter. The other boy had one speed: slow motion. He waited on the pretty teenage girls the second that they walked up to the counter, but ignored everyone else that had already been waiting in line for a long time. When we were ready to leave, we had to wait in line for about 15 minutes for the first boy to return from the restroom and of course, he was talking on his cell phone when he returned. There was a family in front of the line that wanted to bowl, but he told them that he had no open lanes, and started to walk away, despite the fact that the line behind that family included about 20 other people. Since my family was next in line, I had to shout at the boy that if he would let us pay and leave, then he would have open lanes. He looked at me like that thought had never crossed his mind. So then he rang up our bill with about a million mistakes that had to be corrected (we had brought some of our own shoes but he tried to charge us for every person and the food that we had eaten wasn't even close to being correct on our tab), and he finally announced the total. I tried to hand him my debit card to pay, but he then tells me that they aren't accepting cards because their machine is broken. No signs anywhere to let people know about that ahead of time. Luckily, I had my checkbook, but not everyone carries them anymore. Not sure if we will go back, even though we all love to bowl. Will probably go to Beresford or Sioux...

Lanes and bowling are great. Large enough to have space for each lane, and watch other people have fun. When they turn off the main lights and do the strobes and stuff, that's really fun. Next time we will come for Cosmic bowling with fog and such. Food is very high priced and the seperate burgers and fries and charge a lot. The food orders came incorrect 3 different ways but they were swamped so we didn't take it back. Acrade has been updated. Super friendly and...

We booked for our company outing. Called an hour before our reservation and said that we won’t be able to make it until 30 minutes later. When we arrived, however, the guy was very rude and basically said too bad. It was apparent that even if we stuck with our original time slot, there was no way we were going to have a reserved lane that evening. After waiting a half hour, we gave up and left. We definitely won’t be coming...
