Update: Tina the General Manager and the owners are really awesome! They were able to make the situation right and I really appreciate that they took the matter seriously and were gracious and courteous about it. Giving them a 5 star rating just because of the time and respect they gave me for this!
Overall I am giving 4 stars just because the store is great and the staff is friendly and seem knowledgeable each time I go.
However I have adopted 3 guinea pigs from them and they have all been sick with Upper Respiratory Infections. The first two we adopted they didn’t start showing symptoms until the second day we had them. The vet said they had to have been sick at the time we adopted them. The third one was adopted today and was visibly sick at the store. Her eye was swollen shut and had a lot of discharge. I felt so bad so I adopted her and immediately got her to a vet. URI in guinea pigs is extremely contagious to not only the other guinea pigs but to other animals as well and I usually see 2 to 3 animals per cage on top of cleaning and feedings in between without proper hand washing is a quick way to spread the infection. Make sure to check the guinea pigs before you buy as it can become costly for vet care. A normal vet visit is around 60.00-80.00 and that doesn’t include any medication needed. Guinea pigs are considered exotic pets so it’s more expensive for medical care. When our first two guinea pigs got sick it was 190 dollars for the visits, medication and testing.
I overall don’t have a problem with the store itself and I did call and let the manager know both times but I still think the vendor they get them from needs to be aware and figure out why guinea pigs come in sick.
The prices seem pretty fair on most items. There are a few things I’ve seen cheaper on Amazon but that’s probably any pet store you go too.
They have a nice selection of pay by the pound food and treats that are a good price with the membership but trying to get the guinea pig treats is extremely hard. I usually have to go to 3 different stores to get a decent amount of it if I can...
Read moreI cannot brag hard enough on y'all!!! First, the staff is AMAZING. They all love to help and will talk to you about anything and everything you need. They also are cheaper than anyone else on everything! I can get crickets for like .06c a piece here and the more you buy the cheaper they are!! They carry the best pet foods (Orijen, Acana, etc) and a massive variety of treats for dogs, cats and exotics! Holly, the groomer, is BEYOND SPECTACULAR!!!!!!!! We had been taking our 100 pound Old World Shepherd to Floppy Pets, who were charging us $100 to wash and dry her and do some basic furminating, that always left her with fur flying everywhere in the car and she stank two days later. It's been two weeks since we saw Holly and she still smells good with a little bit of Pethead spray and still, NO shedding!!!!! I had to bathe her today as I volunteer with a certified therapy animal group and the dogs must be bathed 2 days before each visit. When I bathed and brushed her this afternoon it literally took about 1/8th the time it usually does. She didn't even have two full brush fulls of hair come off her and she's RIDICULOUSLY long haired and normally sheds like crazy.. Holly has literally made my life easier physically as I'm disabled and vacuuming my floora every single day, is not realistic and I don't have to anymore!! We will always bring our dogs here for grooming...
Read moreI went there a few nights ago and got there just before 8. I usually bath my dog outside but it is too cold right now and I did some research and found this place close by and rang them. The lady who I spoke to over the phone was very nice and the price was great so I decided to go there. The ladies in the store were SUPER friendly and helpful. Took the time to pet my dog and give her a heap of love and then one took me back to the self service washes and showed me what to do. They had plenty of towels, shampoo and conditioner, a drier and obviously a shower type hose to bath the dog. The lady helped me get my big dog up the steps and into the shower area and then put a leash on her that hooked up to the wall so she couldn't move far and then I went ahead and washed her. They came and checked on me to see if everything was ok. It all went so perfectly! It was so nice to be able to go somewhere and wash and groom my dog without having to clean up all of the mess and even better that the staff were so friendly. It is $10 for each wash or you can buy 5 for $25. Excellent prices!! I would without a doubt recommend this place to everyone and anyone. I was really happy and will definitely be going...
