We came into the Tigers Den looking for a place for my son to have fun and learn some MMA. We came in for a trial and found a family. Master Hillail (the owner) greeted us with so much positive energy and excitement and didn't turn a cold shoulder like we have had unfortunately had happen in the past.
I can't really describe it in words but I will try. It was absolutely God's work that we came in here. And the most amazing unexpected blessing.
Something led me to want to try the Tigers Den for my son because it looked like it was a lot of fun and I was trying to figure out if he would like it better than where we currently are.
As he began in class he had a lot of fun! But then something I would have never expected happened. Master Hillail took me to the side and sat me down and asked me what my goals were for my son. I told him that he needs a place where he can use his masculine energy and his strength and power freely and that's why we choose Football and MMA. First of all I have never had such a personal experience, wherein the Owner sat me down and tried to understand our goals. He invested his time and demonstrated care and passion.
Since leaving Galveston, where we had a wonderful community at the rec center, we have been looking for a community to support our physical and mental growth and a place we can go to have mentors and guidance. We have finally found it at the Tigers Den.
My son is a big boy and is often in classes with little kids and has to hold back his strength and power. Honestly I didn't even think about that being the case, but Master Hillail recognized it instantly and brought it to my attention.
Master Hillail made it clear that he didn't think that my son could do well in a class where he has to hold back, so he pulled my son out of the class and introduced us into a different area where the bigger boys train. It was like opening a new world for my son. He was finally being put in a place where he can grow and flourish and get stronger.
The really incredible thing about this is that this man that we just met is helping us choose the best path for my son, and he didn't even know us or know if he was even going to see us again. He brought so much energy and passion into the investment of my son's progress. We are staying and we have finally found our community!
This is our first time here. In the past when we went into a place for a trial we have been embarrassed and greeted with a cold shoulder. I thought maybe Jiu-Jitsu people were just rude. Master Hillail not only exceeded what we could have even imagined but already invested his thoughts, time, passion and love of helping people into my son.
I knew we walked into our new home!
He walked into this place to have fun and we left with a direction for the development of my son's future. We are staying !
We went from this ..
To that ..

Read moreIt's expensive considering the services they provided and some big issues. I only would recommend if you are very close to the gym and have the money to put into this gym. Reasons listed below. The price is very high. 99$ per month. Comparing to other gyms it also lacks quite a bit. While it is 24 hours the staff are not there for 24 hours, the a/c is set a bit high so it always feels hot when you walk in, there are no showers. Due to the lack of staff at all hours and people not placing things back where they retrieved them, equipment will not be where they are supposed to be placed. There are signs that ask people to place equipment where they found them but these go ignored. They have classes but those classes are not cheap. There is no free class for members nor is there a discount. So for the 99$ it is just the gym which makes the price very high for just the gym. Certain machines are broken or not in full functionality. They have an exercise bike that won't turn on and one that you can't adjust the seating on. A few of the machines have options to go up in weight at smaller increments but due to them being disconnected or not capable of being attached you just can't use that function. A couple of the seat adjustments will sometimes lower unexpectedly which can be a bit scary. Another issue with equipment not being placed back properly is safety. They are left in walking areas and I've tripped a couple of times. There are also deadlift/curl bars that can be propped high or low. They don't seem to have a set spot, that or they are most of the time not placed in them, so you will always need to watch where you are walking or again you can trip or hit other body parts on them. This is a personal one but the speaker system can also be frustrating. People will sometimes play VERY loud music over the speakers. It doesn't really give off a friendly gym vibe. Lastly, at the price of 99$ a month it is a little silly that you can't bring a guest with you. Most gyms let you bring a guest and with the price being as high as it is... I would probably not feel this way if the price was lower but that is not the case.
The reason why my star rating isn't lower is because the staff(?) that I have talked to are very nice and seem to care a lot about the gym. Some of the people going there are very nice and respectful. It is kinda close to where I live. But considering the negatives I wouldn't recommend it to others nor will I be continuing my membership after the contract is completed. These experiences are from when people have been there and when people have not and the experience (aside from the music) has been the same for each visit. I'd honestly rate it higher if the a/c, equipment being placed in there proper spots, and equipment maintenance was addressed.
I hope that these things are resolved because I do want to rate it higher but it just isn't better than 3 stars at this...
Read moreI can’t say enough great things about this gym. They have every piece of equipment you are looking for. I came from a CrossFit gym and was excited to see the rowers, wall balls, GHD machine and assault bike. The owner is exceptionally knowledgeable with all things fitness related and really wants to see you reach your goals. All the members are friendly and I never feel intimidated or uncomfortable. One of my favorite things is that it’s open 24/7, any day of the year. So thankful I...
