Beautiful, tree-filled park right on the river! Nice space between sites, accommodating to large rigs and there are full hookups too! For the active sort, there is a paved cycling trail along the river and meandering next to it (away from the river) is a dirt trail for walkers and dog owners which is almost all under lush tree cover...fantastic! If you enjoy boating or hanging out at the beach, the campground's location is perfect!
NASTY WOMEN'S BATHROOM People have said the bathrooms are super clean but that is NOT the case right now. They are positively disgusting, with what appears to be month+ old brown slime in the toilets and worse as well. Truthfully, the condition of the two toilets is the worst I've encountered since I can remember.
MEN'S BATHROOM HAS NO DOOR FOR THE TOILET My husband used the men's and also reported a slimy toilet and even worse, the one toilet stall (located at the far end of the bathroom) literally has no door, so if someone comes in and you're busy, you'd better let them know when the door opens before they walk in on you.
BATHROOMS CLOSE AT DUSK The signs mention that they are shut after dark...so...what are people supposed to do if they need to go? Thankfully we have full hookups but we like to use the facilities if we can. It's safe to say that I will not be using this campground's bathroom during our week-long stay.
BEWARE: HOMELESS ELEMENT AND BUSY DAY USE RIGHT AT THE CAMPGROUND SO LOCK YOUR STUFF The bathrooms are locked at night because of homeless people. There are countless paths off the dirt trail that no doubt lead to encampments, as I've read about online. I have not seen any questionable sorts but they are very likely nearby. Keep honest people honest by putting anything away and out...
Read moreWe stayed here for 3 night with friends. We were in spot 15. Our friends stayed in 16 spot 16 was overrun with these flying bugs. They were all over my friends rv and managed to find their way inside through the vents, window weep holes and A/c unit. They were fighting them both inside/outside all weekend long which was gross. We stayed right next door and only had a few bugs in our spot. I think they may be coming from the tree that overhangs spot 16. Would not recommend spot 16 to anyone. Automatic sprinklers were also a huge problem. They came on at 10am?!?!?! Really?!?!?! Why not in the middle of the night when everyone is sleeping and not outside on the grass. One of the sprinkler heads in our site was broken so the water shot straight up onto our picnic table. We threw a pot over it to prevent that from happening again for the rest of the time we were there. Park was quiet but we did get a talking to from the park host when we first arrived about not parking our fifth wheel over the grass behind it even though our wheels were still on the cement pad. We have a 38 foot fifth wheel and the site online said it was 60 foot. We could not park our truck that tows it in the same spot which was inconvenient. When I mentioned that to the park host he said the spots are not 60 feet and I said well that’s what it said they were online when I reserved them. We liked the park for it’s quiet atmosphere but it could use some upkeep on the bugs...
Read moreGill’s Landing RV Park in Lebanon is a great little park. From our site we can see the South Santiam River where people can launch their boats, fish, swim and hike the trails. The sites are all full hook-up and are nicely spaced apart with pleasant grass and trees all around. The pads are level concrete and each site has a picnic table and fire ring. There are clean showers for the park campers only plus public bathrooms as this is a city park/boat launch area. The camp hosts, John and Sherry, are wonderful people who take a personal interest in making sure the entire park is clean and well maintained. In fact, John has blown off our patio, outside mat and front steps nearly every day for us! One rainy day he even blew our outside broom to get it clean and dry. In all our years of camping we’ve never had anyone do this! We were here 2 years ago when there was a huge vagrant problem. John and Sherry have worked with the Lebanon Police to move the vagrants and drug dealing out. Now the park is much safer for walking around, sitting outside and leaving your RV. The police drive around at least 4-6 times a day which is fantastic. They are wonderful! Thank you Lebanon Police for protecting us. I highly recommend Gill’s Landing RV Park if you are staying in the area. It’s a great little homey park that is perfectly located for day trips to the Pacific Ocean or the Cascade Mountains or do a Willamette...
