We were a customer of Simply Automated for years. They installed a number of products for us. It was a robust Control4 system as the central hub that controlled our 8 zone audio, Just-Add-Power video matrix, RF wireless blinds, control4 lighting, and the wifi network equipment as well.
From the outset, we’ve had issues with the quality of our wifi network. Simply Automated always said that we lived in a “super busy” area as we were across the street from an apartment building and 750 ft from a hospital. This never rang true to me given that control4 is used extensively in dense areas like Manhattan.
In December of 2022, simply automated came onsite to Re-analyze our network and suggest ways to improve the network. The wireless nodes they suggested were outrageously expensive.
I was complaining about the cost to a friend that also has a control4 system but with a different dealer. He offered to bring his people out to get a 2nd opinion.
I took him up on the offer. They analyzed the system and found a node entirely unplugged in the basement and the remaining nodes were partially incompatible with one another. The original wifi nodes were “wifi 5” but they added an additional node years later to “fix” the problem and added a “wave 2 wifi 5” node. The other dealer said this was causing significant performance issues because of compatibility issues.
When I notified Control4 of the assessment, Tom claimed they “did not do an analysis” of my equipment and instead he essentially fired me as a client of Simply Automated. His defense was almost as offensive as him firing me as a client because I got a 2nd opinion. I had a known wifi issue, as his client, and it seems he just had his employees send me a high priced “fix” with doing no work to refresh themselves on the previous installation (with unplugged and mismatched equipment).
Since that time, I’ve been working with a new dealer and they were immediately able to provide me with a far superior network to what I had previously for a fraction of the cost that was quoted by Simply Automated to...

They have outstanding customer service ,professional and always put customer first. I initially integrated my Control4 through Theater Xtreme who are professional and organized as well. As they did not offer emergency service support i did switch to "Listen Hear Home Entertainment and Audio" as my friend recommended. Spent more than 10k for upgrades with Listen Hear and was a disaster with Albert the owner of" Listen Hear Home automation". Basically a botched work and will not return your call back to fix problems. Did reach out to other dealers who were hesitant to take over a botched work.

Tom was great to work with. I found him to be very knowledgeable and helpful in guiding me on what I equipment upgrades I should make. Tom provided me a detailed written estimate of each item that he was planning to install in my home theater. He included all of the model numbers, manufactures, and the cost of each item. When researching Simply Automated's 'pricing over the internet I found them to be in line with all of the national retailer's advertised prices. Within 3 weeks of placing my order, I received an install date that was sooner than I expected. Tom sent 2 installers to my home that were very meticulous in installing the new equipment.
