Buttermilk Falls — Local services in Lehigh Township

The photos online looked amazing but where google maps took me was showing it was out in the woods off the side of the road where I didn’t see anyway to get there. Visiting Buttermilk Falls was only a 0.3 mile easy hike from the Rockport access paved parking area. The trail offers bike and wheelchair access as it is flat, wide and paved. We hiked to the falls in the rain and stayed dry, thanks to the lush tree canopy cover. The falls cascade for 50-60 ft to a rock pool and you view it from a small bridge. The larger falls at Rockport access of Lehigh Gorge State Park. A short walk on the north side of the parking lot. Shaded and flat trails along the Lehigh river. Pleasant spot for a picnic lunch. The falls is nicest in the spring when rainfall supplies the springs with fresh water which feeds into the falls.
