Every August we come down to Kansas City for a weekend to watch a couple of Royals games & play a round of golf. First of all, this is a beautiful golf course, not only to play golf at, but to also be driving on the cart path through the forrest of trees in between holes & alongside the neighborhood homes. We were paired up w/two local residents Matt & Matthew (a father & son) who were very kind and we enjoyed playing the round with. Sorry we didn't start playing very well until around the 7th hole. We're very thankful for all the digital yardage help into the holes. You & your son have wonderful easy swings. The water drainage system has to be amazing, b/c 24 hours before we played on Saturday 8/14/21, it rained almost 7 1/2 inches. It was a little spongy in some of the low lying areas, as one could imagine, but I didn't even think we'd be able to play at all. However, a big kudos to the maintenance staff as well, the course is very well maintained. The clubhouse staff was nice, friendly & informative. I would have to say that this is definitely a fair & rewarding course every golfer needs to play, just bring your A game. The only reason I gave 4 stars, instead of 5, was simply b/c it's not an 18 hole course. Everything else we experienced and the golf course itself is 5 stars. I would really love to see what they could do if they had enough room to put another 9 holes in. The golf course challenges your entire game & club selection. I love that it's not a driver & pitching wedge typical course. You need to position yourself to certain areas of the fairway, off of each tee box, to set up your second shot in order to truly play & score well. Be sure to consistently hit fairways, b/c the rough is thick, as well as, challenging on approach shots. I was in that thick jungle way too often. Quite disappointed that I didn't play well, but loved playing here and enjoyed the overall experience. We absolutely had a blast. Can't wait to make our next tee time to come back & play here next...
Read moreI play this course quite frequently, and it never disappoints. Even in the hot Kansas summers the fairways and greens are in very good condition, and the team does a good job at changing the hole locations to make each round a little different from the last. The course itself is, in my opinion, very challenging, and it holds up round after round. The course sits nestled around a couple of different neighborhoods, and my only personal gripe is that on certain holes (4, 6, 9) the homes on course are definitely in play if you don't hit the ball straight down the fairway with each swing. That probably adds to difficulty of the course, but that's my only gripe.
Everyone I've encountered that works here has been incredibly nice and helpful, and I love the different tournaments that they hold. I typically play this course anywhere from 15-20 times a year, and I won't be stopping...
Read moreGreat course, kept in great shape. Was surprised the rough wasn’t thick enough to handle carts rolling over them.. however most of the fairways allowed you to drive into them.. seemed uncommon for a couple par 4’s to not allow carts on them considering it wasn’t that wet. The train tracks next to the course are definitely a downside.. had about 20 minutes of time where there was a very prominent roar of a train passing by.. not typically something I’m used to hearing on a course of this caliber. For $35 for 9 holes on a week night($70 for 18) id certainly suggest playing elsewhere because there are so many great golf courses in KC and no need to deal with some of the downsides of this course. BUT- if your someone who doesn’t mind over paying a bit for a good golf experience then...
