We stopped in to the Lenexa location after the Lenexa Art Fair yesterday. We were greeted fairly quickly after being at. Our server was polite and quickly took our drink order and delivered soon after.
We ordered our meal, ribeye special, medium rare, and a pasta dish. The meals came fairly quickly, however the steak was rubbery and over cooked, medium to medium well, so we something to our server. She took it back and requested it to be cooked again.
The replacement steak meal came back out and it was worse the second time, well done. In addition, the baked potato was cold. We flagged our server and shared our frustration. The manager came out to speak to us, who then apologized and said they will take it off our ticket. They offered to get a new dish, to which we declined and asked for our check instead.
Our ticket came and showed 2 steak meals, both being voided out. The manager also took our drinks off so we were only paying for my pasta dish. When paying the $20 bill, we gave a higher % tip for the server even though the food was unacceptable. We used the POS device at the table and selected 30%…
When we left the server gave us our printed receipt and as we walked out we were shocked to see the tip amount was based on the full cost of two steak meals we never ate and the beverages that were all taken off our bill by the manager.
First, meals you could not eat because they were not cooked to your satisfaction, should not be included/considered for tip calculation. Secondly, we at minimum should have been told tips are calculated on everything originally entered on your ticket, where it is to your satisfaction or not…even if it was horrible and you had to...
Read moreBeing in customer service for half of my life and then transitioning to being a salon owner/ manager I’ve learned so much more about the customer experience. I don’t ever leave a bad review bc I understand the depth of what that can be for a business. All that to say I had the absolute worst experience at Blue Moose Lenexa location, by the actual General Manager. They served my family and I the tiniest wings I’ve ever seen in my life. I wouldn’t serve those to anyone if I was the manager. I understand with covid things have changed but it was embarrassing what the wings looked like. Not only that but they also had feathers on them. I took them back so I can order something else and when I pointed out there were feathers on my wings the GM laughed in my face and repeatedly told me there was no way feathers would be on my wings. If you’ve ever had anyone gaslight you the way he did you would just be in shock and I was. He said he wasn’t going to even look at my wings because there’s no chance they’re feathers on them. He mad a scene in front of his hostess and felt like he was trying to embarrass me. He talked to me like I was a child. He didn’t apologize or offer to get me something else. I had a menu I was looking at to order something else and he told me to leave. He told me there was a Johnny’s down the street and he didn’t want my business as he continued to chuckle. It was blown out of proportion and I am still in shock of how I was treated unfairly. Just know there was nothing done about how I was treated there and I would never bring my family or friends to...
Read moreWe went here for their Easter Buffet and to say it was underwhelming was an understatement. The food was as cold. Aside from the bread pudding, nothing stood out. Most everything was one bite and done. The breakfast items were similar to a hotel breakfast with heat and serve sausage and instant eggs. The veggies were mushy. Even the dessert items and entrees all seemed pre made and not fresh. Fried or pre-made food. Mac n cheese was a clump of goo. Items that were listed that they would be on the buffet, werent even there, so false advertising. When you say you are having shrimp cocktail and smoked salmon, you need to have it. Buffet was set up in a way that made no sense and you had to walk by the dessert bar first. Plates were only at one location rather than at each serving place. Many items were empty. When they did bring out new items, they put a dirty serving dish caked with food to where you couldn't even use it. They couldn't even be bothered to clean it off or bring a new utensil. They did pick up dishes off of tables quickly.
At $180 for a family of 4, we were very disappointed. It was like they threw together a Buffet for a quick money grab. And when you leave a Buffet and are discussing what you want for dinner that night, that is telling that the food was not good. I messaged the restaurant directly and never received a reply which is also very telling.
We won't be back, and having read recent reviews it doesn't look like others will either. Save your money. This place...
