After having a refrigerator die on us when it was only 6 years old, (Frigidaire Pro) we decided that wherever we purchased our next refrigerator, we wanted it to be with a group that we could grow old with! One that would service us when needed. The old fridge started acting up with problems over Memorial Day when of course, we had company. Ughhh! Never convenient! We went up to Millmans Appliance in Lewes, DE and checked out their Blem (Blemished) stock and although there was plenty of great items there, none would work for our circumstances. We sat with Rose, Sales Manager, who helped make our decision easy! She knew much about everything and understood our predicament. A loaner fridge was offered if needed to get us through to delivery since our fridge needed to be ordered. Rose was able to tell us what was coming in over the next week (or two) and what was spoken for thus knowing what was going to be available most quickly. Putting bags of ice in fridge and freezer to keep items cold is a drag!! Also, Millman's has software that checks the pricing of the Big Box Stores every 15 minutes and they match these prices! Since we were Retired Military, we didn't have the added fee of warranty (10 yr) nor the delivery./take away fee. ($79). What a blessing!! Ultimately what we picked and how we picked it was off of availability, insightful discussion regarding service calls and brands most likely to be serviced and those that get the least calls, and their fast website -- as the inventory is turned around pretty quick! Not sure why one would go anywhere else to buy if they are not going to get the knowledge, competitive pricing or selection. Millman's represents 82 appliance manufacturers. We worked with Breanna and Jeff to get us scheduled... and they were right on the money with the timing. Truth be told , I called early in the week to give an update that both our fridge AND freezer were now failing, and we were hoping to get something in less than two weeks. They came through after a meeting that morning and let us know that our wishes were coming to reality. We received a phone call after a morning meeting .... and again the night before delivery to tell us that we were now the first stop and not the fourth for the next day! This call came in at ^6:15 pm after the shop closed but communication must matter as they were staying late to keep all parties informed! The real delight was the next morning when Don and John showed up with pickup truck and large enclosed trailer. These two were a most professional team! They respected one another fully and communicated beautifully. The plan was discussed on how to enter the house, the path to the kitchen was cleared, the old fridge was removed and the new fridge was installed. The waterlines for ice were hooked up and flushed. The filters installed, the handles were attached, the height was adjusted, the trash was taken away and the knowledge of all working components was shared! Paperwork was completed to verify the serial/model numbers by all! We are thrilled to be part of the Millman Appliance Family and we thank them for being a huge asset to the greater Sussex County community! When you enter there establishment, the piles of paperwork on desks is a testament of the volume of customers they are servicing! Thank you Rose, Breanna/Jeff, Don and John! ...
Read moreI purchased all my appliances from Millman’s when we purchased our home. Along the way our refrigerator broke and I decided to go back to look for replacement. While there they discussed their 10 year warranty that they sell. I realized that I most likely purchased that same warranty when I bought so I went back home to confirm with my original receipt. They could not verify in store because of new computer system.
I called back multiple times and confirmed that my unit is under theiir warranty that they were just trying to sell me again. It took several calls/voicemails before I finally got a call back. They told me they had to contact their technician to get this scheduled. I waited another week and called back. Each time I called it was like ground hogs day with their customer service agent. She had no recollection of our previous conversations.
About three weeks after our initial conversation I was finally able to get a service call scheduled. However now they told me there is a service fee to come out. I had to read the warranty from my receipt to their rep because she did not believe me it was covered. Per the language on my receipt it is covered. I will attach it to this review for reference. I had to email to their rep because she says the warranty they now sell is not worded this way.
Anyway, the technician finally came out. I already called Samsung and they confirmed they will send compressor under their warranty free of charge. Per Millman’s language it states they will cover the labor of manufacture does not for a major component. There is only a $8.95 filing fee.
When technician came and assessed he confirmed issue was major component. He than told me it would cost $755 in labor to repair. I was a little bothered by this as I had multiple conversations with rep about my warranty already. She said she has only been than a year and not familiar with everything they had done/sold in past.
What really bothered me was that when I showed the technician the warranty, his exacts words is that the warranty they sell is a “joke”! The warranty only covers $150 in labor. It does not state this anywhere on contract. I knew at that point this was done. After multiple conversations with their clueless employees I knew this one of the biggest waste of efforts I was involved with.
So I go from going their to buy a new refrigerator and while being sold another warranty I realized I was covered with my initial purchase… was than told warranty they sell is a joke!
Stay...
Read moreI’m beyond disappointed with Millman’s Appliances.
I reported a malfunction with my washing machine on May 13, while it was still under warranty. Since then, I’ve been waiting over 6 weeks for a repair. I've had technician visits, repeated promises that parts are “in stock,” and endless delays with no follow-up.
After weeks of silence, I chased Millmans's team multiple times via email and phone — only to be told, again and again, that the repair was coming "next week." After I sent a formal email on June 30, someone finally called me — not to resolve anything. I was told, “I promise you’ll get a call back tomorrow morning (July 1) with the repair details.”
It’s now end of business on July 1. No call. No update. Nothing.
This has been one of the worst customer service experiences I’ve ever had. I’ve had to use laundromats for weeks while your team ignored voicemails, emails, and basic responsibility.
Save yourself the frustration — shop anywhere else.
UPDATE (July 16): After I posted my previous review, manager from Millman's contacted me and asked me to delete it, promising they'd take full control of the situation.
Unfortunately, it only got worse.
A technician came with the wrong part — a part I had been waiting two weeks for. Turns out, they were calling the wrong customer because they dialed the wrong number... despite having my email and phone number on file. No one verified anything.
I sent another email after the visit, begging them to either fix the washer immediately and reimburse my landromat expenses, or issue a full refund for both the washer and those expenses. No reply that day.
The next morning, I finally got a call — a technician was scheduled again, now with the right part. Somehow, this "hard-to-find" part arrived in less than 24 hours.
The tech came on July 15 and installed it. But the washer is still completely broken. After four technician visits, they still can't fix it. The tech told me he'd inform the manager that the unit is unrepairable and that someone would call me that day to discuss bringing me a replacement.
Nobody called me on July 15. No one emailed or called on July 16 either.
I've waited 8 weeks, spent hundreds at the landromat, dealt with strangers circling me while I washed my clothes, and lost countless hours of my time. I’ve begged this company again and again to simply do what they promised under warranty.
I’ve never been so disappointed and heartbroken by a customer experience in my life. I wouldn’t wish this...
