I have been trying to get to this course for about a year. I have heard so many good things about it, but when I played, I was sorely disappointed. Everyone there was nice and polite. The first time I created a tee time, I picked a noon time. It took my reservation. It asked for a prior check in, which I have never done for any course and it asked to pay ahead. When I got there it was closed. Something is up with their system. I called them the following Monday and received my money back. It’s just not right. I played on a beautiful day, but the course was a wet muddy mess. We had no measureable rain the night before, but before that we were in a drought, so no idea where all this water came from. Fairways were full of cut grass debri. Rough was either too tall grass or dirt. Many dirt spots throughout entire course. No colored flags to indicate pin position. Long standing water sections in multiple greens that create what I call green rot. The whole course seemed to be non-maintained. No cart girls to get a drink. Pace of play was near 5 hours and no ranger to push it along. So not worth the $70+ for the round. So many course you can play for cheaper in way better condition. Eagle ridge in way better shape and cheaper. River ridge is $10 more and phenomenal condition. Chapel ridge is leagues ahead in condition and you can get a Sunday at $53. Not sure what all the hype is on this course. ...
Read moreBeen a couple years since I've played here and the course has come together nice. Today I played Orange and Black. On to the review.
Tee Boxes 4/5 - There are a number of short par 4s that suffer from the iron use. Other than that they are fine.
Fairways 5/5 - No significant issues of dead or soggy areas, they have cart path rules for certain holes after rain to prevent wear and tear.
Greens 4/5 - A couple years ago, the greens on Orange were super firm and prevented balls from checking up. They have since settled and hold shots well. There are some areas of repair that are noticeable, but holes were cut in unaffected areas, and roll true at about a 10.
Bunkers 5/5 - Not every bunker was perfect, but of the ones I ended up in, the sand wasn't packed down like expected after rain, looks like they rake them during morning maintenance.
Amenities 5/5 - Driving range with fairway bunkers, two large putting/chipping greens
Overall for $40 on golfnow hot deal, definitely worth the price to play. I've played the White course before and it's also nice, it's significantly more open than the other two, with the Black being the tightest/most difficult of the...
Read moreSo I paid to play 18 holes and was by myself and it said online cart included so I get there and the guy Mike the ranger was very rude tried to lecture me on carts cause I thought I would have my own but I didn't care it is what it is but he was like yea you only pay for a half of a cart when you pay but yet he had already sent the guy I was supposed to play with off and was like I don't know we're they are so the 30 minutes early I got there I still got no warm up not even 1 putt cause I had to wait for him to track them down then I had to carry all my stuff from my truck to the clubhouse then almost to the first tee to get to the cart so needless to say I did not have a good experience and that Mike guy that is the ranger should be fired he is very rude and disrespectful. Also the guy I played with said he did the same thing to him and told him they didnt have enough carts for all the people playing today which in my opinion means maybe they should invest in the place a little more cause the course is no were near as nice as...
