I am not someone who usually gives a 1 star review, but I felt that Lincoln Hills Golf Course definitely earned it's 1 star.

I have been golfing in the Sacramento area for many years, and have in the past enjoyed thoroughly playing at Lincoln Hills Golf Course. Unfortunately after the round my friend and I played on Friday the 13th of September we will never be back.

What started out as a normal day ended up being the worst day of golf, thanks to the complete breakdown of customer service and down right human politeness by "Mac" in the pro shop, and Sean Silva the apparent "General Manager". As my friend and I approached the green on the 6th hole, on the Orchard course our golf cart came to a screeching halt going up hill, almost throwing us over the dash board. We thought the battery may have died, but everything was still on we just weren't moving.

It is no secret that things happen with golf carts when you are golfing all the time, so we decided to use the on board GPS to call for help, and we also decided to make a call to the pro shop just to be safe. After about 9 separate attempts to get someone to answer the phone (they were not that busy) we finally got an answer at 3:17pm. A gentleman by the name of "Mac" said he would send someone right out (remember we are only on the 6th hole) so it is not that far.

At 3:30pm, we were still sitting in the sun on the 6th hole (it was over 100 out) so I called back, and again spoke to "Mac" who told me and I quote "they are on their way over the hill"!

It is now 3:39pm, and we are still sitting on the 6th hole. at this point we have already been passed by other golfers and we are hot and sweaty. So I called again and this time played with the automated system to get the GM "Sean Silva" on the phone, I was grateful that maybe someone in charge could help! That was a mistake, all he had to say was he heard the conversation with "Mac" and like he told me before they are on their way. I of course had to ask why has it been (22) minutes? All he said was sorry, it takes a while to get out their. Really?? To drive a cart 6 holes? I can walk 6 holes a lot faster than 22 minutes.

From this point, I decided to just stop calling. So we sat and waited another 15 minutes and finally decided to pack everything up and start walking. It was now 3:54pm. and it was still blazing hot out!

When we arrived at the 7th hole, low and behold that cart guy pulled up and was like "does someone need a cart?" Really? No, not at all! When I asked the cart guy what had happened, he said and I again quote "I literally just got the call" Are you kidding??

This golf course has got some serious issues. To charge us $59.00 each and treat us like we just don't matter is a serious breakdown of just plain old human kindness, I even after all of this was nothing but polite to the people that finally came, because it is the right thing to...

For the first 17 years we moved up here. I played this golf course every Sunday, we loved it. People were Nice, the course was always in pretty good shape, but it has changed. Couple years ago, the ownership started to change so we decided with the decline of the golf course to step away for a while. Today was the day we decided to give our favorite course another try, sadly, it was a disaster The course was overbooked, the fairways were atrocious, the weeds were running the place and the greens were poor at best. However, we decided to keep going, and then ran into a cart problem, I play with A couple of disabled older gentleman, one had a quadruple bypass another is missing a leg and had a bypass as well, needless to say we need those carts to work. It didn’t, I called the clubhouse 13 times as you can see in the photo and we weren’t able to get a hold of anybody. We decided to throw the three bags onto one cart and drive into the clubhouse. We know it’s not the safest thing to do, but we had no other choice. As we were driving in, a woman yelling at us told us we can’t do that and stopped We tried to explain what happened, but she disregarded any explanation and continue to berate us. Sadly got the better of me and I called her Karen, and we drove off. She followed us with almost a personal hatred and started berating us again, she said do you know you just called the head golf pro a Karen and stared at me as she as if she was going to punch me Instead of engaging any further we left Not only am I never going to come to this golf course again I’m gonna let everybody I possibly know about this...

Lincoln Hills Golf Course offers golf enthusiasts a double treat with its two separate courses – the Orchard and the Hills. Both courses are nothing short of amazing, providing a diverse and enjoyable experience for players of all skill levels. Before hitting the greens, spending time at the range adds an extra layer of satisfaction to the overall visit.

The staff at Lincoln Hills Golf Course deserves applause for their exceptional service. From the moment you arrive, the welcoming atmosphere created by the friendly and efficient staff sets a positive tone for the day. I’ve never encountered any issues during my time on the courses, and the staff’s professionalism contributes to the overall enjoyment of the experience.

The unique feature of ponds with turtles adds a charming touch to the already picturesque setting. It’s a delightful surprise and adds to the overall ambiance of the courses. The attention to detail in maintaining not just the fairways but also the surrounding natural elements is evident and contributes to the golfing paradise that is Lincoln Hills.

In conclusion, Lincoln Hills Golf Course stands out as a golfer’s haven with its fantastic Orchard and Hills courses, welcoming staff, and charming pond features. Whether you’re a seasoned golfer or a casual player, this course provides an exceptional and enjoyable experience that keeps you coming...

We live on one course so play it frequently. The new owners have worked hard, and spent a ton of money, trying to get the courses in shape. The bunkers were hard as rocks, huge and some nowhere near where you’d hit. They’ve redone or taken out many of them, added drainage and new sand. The sand is now super fluffy and rather heavy but it’s still a vast improvement. Now if they could just get rid of all the Dallis grass…

I’ve played these courses 3 times a week for the last 7 years and have watched the courses go from bad to worse to getting really good. The new owners have done a tremendous job on the renovation of the bunkers. The sand is very good quality so it makes the course so much more playable. I see that work is being done on the lady's tee boxes also. Thanks for the improvement! Also kudos to the employees working there!
