Food City — Local services in Lisbon

I had never heard of food city before moving to Lisbon falls 4 years ago. Since then I have had 5 or 6 bad experiences with FC. The top two...My oldest son and I went in for some grocerys. After 20 minutes of shopping we went to check out. When we started to unload the clerk says "I hope your not using a card because our machines aren't working" Well unfortunately plan A had been to use my card. Of course there was an ATM very close by that I could have used but the next statement made me not want to purchase anything "If you don't have any money your going to have to put that stuff back" Ok really! I spent the next 20 minutes returning my items to the shelf. Upon leaving I told the manager and was laughed at. My wife loves claw machines they have one. Upon check out I asked for a dollar in quarters the clerk an older lady says "We don't sell quarters." I say stunned they are for the claw machine. She retorts "Your gonna have to buy your quarters some where else." Well I encourage everyone out there to buy your quarters and other grocerys...

My whole family has been shopping here for years, from my grandparents, to my parents and aunts and uncles, all the way to me. Im the latest generation to shop there. I remember when it was a much smaller store behind the Kennebec Store (Now known as Frank's). Never had a bad experience there. Sure its a lil frustrating something you want is out of stock. But hey, still plenty of other stuff to get. If I may recommend, the Best Yet brands are as good the name brand but cheaper, go for it. Staff is friendly and if you've been shopping their long enough, will greet you by name. All in all, a great store worth every penny. And as I said before, NEVER had any...

Expensive. Thought the 4x4-2" tall frozen cake had a code on the sticker. It said 1709. No way in heck it could be the price right?!
