Recently I remodeled my home office and changed out my L-shaped desk for a traditional style. That meant I lost the cable concentrator that was located inside the L shape. I had a mass of unsightly cables running down the side of the desk and connecting to a power strip. Because of where the desk was situated the power strip could be seen from the main part of the office. I looked online and found cable concentrator boxes where I could hide the power strip and run all the cables into the box. They all looked cheaply-built and not attractive.

I contacted Mike at Chick Farm Woodworking and asked if he could make a cable hub out of wood, large enough to hold a 22 outlet power strip, and wide enough to hold large transformer-style plugs. I specifically requested maple, as my floors are maple and I wanted something that would complement them. Mike came through with a beautiful, well-built box that will last for years. The wood has a grain and he used the waterfall edge technique so that the grain flows smoothly around the box. Inside there is plenty of room for the outlet strip and connections. Mike was so great to work with!! He is extremely passionate, patient, and takes the time to explain things and wants to make sure you are happy with the piece you are getting! We bought the cast iron pedestal and needed a nice top made for it. Initially, we weren’t sure what we wanted but once Mike helped us narrow down what we did want he then made the top for us.
