Lix Ice Cream and Catering — Restaurant in Litchfield

So, its Monday evening and my sweet aunt was having a rough day. She had posted something on Facebook about how her neighbor had received a delivery from Lix, and how she wished that she could have the deep fried cookie dough balls from them, and within the post, she had taken a picture of the delivery car that had the phone number on the side. I called, from Maine, and spoke with Jay. He was so incredibly helpful and accommodating even though it was 20 mintues before they closed. After I had called and placed my order, I was on facetime with my aunt. Jay knocked on the door and delievered her amazing desserts!! He drew a flower and wrote Happy Spring on the bag!! This is by far, the most amazing experience that I have had with a food establishment. Lix is AMAZING and Jay showed that he genuinely cared about his customers. Pulled into parking lot to switch drivers because I was starting to fall asleep and was surprised to find an ice cream spot. With a chocolate ice cream cone in my hand filling my stomach, I got the stamina to continue driving. So thanks for the refreshingly cold and chocolaty shot of awakeness! The ice cream was pretty good, and to be safe eating and driving I was able to stop the server from adding a second scoop which would have been nice to eat but safety first. She was very accommodating. I wondered though if they made their own ice cream especially with such a large list of flavors. We didn't stay long but I didn't see anything that said it was homemade. If you like the local community ice cream stop, with outdoor seating, this place is for you. It can get quite busy with long lines on local school sporting days, but it is worth it. There is always a special dessert offered (like homemade apple crisp) that is so large 2 to 3 people could partake in eating it. My daughter's favorite is this epic double cookie dough sundae they offer as a special on occasion. The lady in charge is a lovely Southern belle whom is always a joy to talk with.
