Kevin and I purchased a stove and refrigerator from Faulkner Appliance in Litchfield. Anyone remember Bill? We never dreamed we would still be using the appliances 36 years later. Yes we are frugal-cheap many would say but why replace something that isn't broke???? For a few years now our appliances were telling us they were getting tired and wanted to retire. This past Christmas our family gifted us a new stove. What fun to shop for "New". Our search brought us to several places which sold very nice appliances. At Home Source in Litchfield we met Mina. Mina stayed past closing to answer our questions then recommended we go home and think about their product and make an informed decision...We went back to Home Source and committed ourselves to a stove AND refrigerator to boot...Our quest was for appliances. Called them to see if they price matched. The website said they do but wanted to be told. They reassured me they belong to a national chain for buying power so they can compete with big box stores. I drove over 40 miles to take care of the paperwork and paying them so they could deliver to a new house I bought in Cokato. They had the note for the gal working that Friday so there would be no questions. She had no clue what to do so she called the Hutchinson store and the manager said we match prices for everything but freezers. Then she said they don’t match big box stores because they’re not local. Needless to say I told them to stick it and ordered it on lines for $120.00 cheaper and even got free delivery! It was much easier than dealing with idiots!! Lowe’s rocks and was cheaper than Menards...

Recent afternoon, we purchased an electric range and over the range microwave oven. Following morning at store open, contacted Adrian stating we’d like to return the microwave oven. Our plan was to purchase a higher end model. Was told there would be a 25% restocking fee because the box was opened. My mistake for not requesting to see their return policy. The store owner told us their return policy is no different from the box stores, so I checked: Best Buy, Home Depot, Lowes, Menards and Sears, however I found this to be false. Tried to keep business local but, because of the extremely poor way this matter was handled, in addition to rudely being hung up on by the store owner, we’ll no longer be able to neither purchase from nor recommend others to Home Source.
