Made reservations for two on Valentine's Day 2025 for 8:00 p.m. When we arrived, the hostess told us it would be just a few minutes before our table would be ready.
But after arriving 10 minutes early, waiting until 8:30 p.m., and seeing multiple couples taken ahead of us, I got curious.
So I walked up and asked the hostess how much longer she thought it would be before we were seated. She asked my name, I gave it to her, and then I watched her slide her finger down the list to find my name. To my surprise, it had already been crossed through as if we had already been seated.
Once she realizes her mistake, she gets us a couple of menus and seats us in the bar area, at the very back corner of the room.
Once seated, we waited for another 25 minutes without speaking to a waitress. At that point, it became apparent that we were going to have to track one down ourselves, and that's exactly what we did.
After having to track down a waitress and order our drinks, we also went ahead and ordered appetizers (to save time) because it was becoming painfully obvious where all of this was headed.
After ordering our drinks, they finally arrived 15 minutes later (water and sweet tea). At that point, we then decided to go ahead and order our entrees.
Fast forward another 30 minutes, and we still hadn't received our salads or appetizers. So when the owner's wife passed by and asked us how things were going, we explained to her the service issues we had experienced up to that point.
We asked if she would check on our order for us, and she obliged, but 20 more minutes would pass without us hearing from her either. At this point, I began to wonder if the colossal failure of the 317 staff was intentional.
The straw that broke the camels back came when the couple seated next to us (who had only been seated a mere 30 seconds before we were) received their entrees and were enjoying their Valentine's date together.
Meanwhile, here we had been seated for over an hour and a half, and we hadn't even been offered refills, let alone been served our side salads, appetizers, or entrees like the couple who, again, were seated a mere 30 seconds before we were.
We finally decided to leave after waiting for 2 hours and the only service we had been provided was a glass of water and sweet tea. All of this after having made reservations on Valentines Day.
Apparently, you have to know somebody at 317 just to receive some basic hospitality. By far, it was the worst service by a restaurant I never even got to eat at.
If I could give the staff negative stars, I would. Worst dining experience of my life, and that's saying something because I've had the unfortunate experience of eating in 3rd world countries, and no, that's not an exaggeration.
Truthfully, I've never witnessed such complete failures within a restaurant, and they happened at multiple levels of the staff. Trained monkeys could have...
Read moreMy husband and I tried to celebrate Valentines Day by having dinner at 317 Steakhouse. I called ahead and reserved a table. But when we arrived our name was not on the list. And they were not very accommodating because we eventually sat ourselves at the bar. As we kept requesting a table of our own we did not receive one. After having a couple drinks served by an aggregated bartender we ordered our entrees. We could clearly hear the bartender pass us off to another server/bartender that was just as hungover as the other. Their conversation about their night before was heard by every guest sitting at the bar. That is the only thing we had to do while waiting one and a half hour for our food. After we were rudely responded to for asking about it twice we wanted no further interaction with the staff who told us there was no manager on site. Which I find hard to believe because I have been a bartender/server for over twenty years. I am well aware of the protocol in the front and back of house in restaurants. So when we had to ask for our food a third time the bartender rolled her eyes and went and got our food out of the expo window that had been there for so long the juice from the $42 bone in ribeye was dried on the plate. All the guest at the bar witnessed the bartenders nasty interaction with us and the condition of the food. We paid for our drinks, appetizer, and my salad. We were NEVER apologized to from them not recording our reservations to our unacceptable treatment from the staff to a member of management being aware or available to handle our situation and ensure we left the establishment satisfied. I feel our time spent there on a holiday would have had a different ending had we spoken to other staff or anyone who cares about...
Read moreWe are from out of town on a motorcycle trip, staying close to here and was recommend to have a nice meal. Party of 6 is all we had. Place was steady but not super busy. Our waitress could not for the life of her keep our stuff right. Two other tables were seated after us.( 1 table of 4 and a table of 5) They had their drinks and were ordering food before we ever even saw our waitress. Then she lost one of the people in our party's order and drink, plus his entire bill. She had our food sooo messed up. Couldn't even begin to try to remember drink orders, dont think your getting her to remember refills. Even after asking, still never got a refill. Steak was ordered medium rare, come out done done. Had a MR stuck in it. But was no red or pink showing at all plus was very dry. Never could tell her, she didn't come back for an easy 30 minutes. Apps took forever, had to ask for them only to show up cold. Didn't see her for a solid 10 or so minutes. Salads came 3 minutes before steaks. We said right off the rip that checks were going to be a mess when she couldn't get or keep drink orders correct, and we were sitting right infront of the drink station. It was definitely an experience to say the least. Hey its all about trying new things right. Maybe she was having a bad day, but she made NO attempt to try to fix, or ask about anything. When we tried to tell here she laughed it of and disappeared. Again when she brought our bills out, no idea who had what or who got which bill. We all payed in cash told her we didn't need change, to keep it. She brought back all our change and even it was wrong. Side note, even though they were cold Egg Rolls were very good also the wedge salad. Those are my two...
