We stayed at the Whispering Trees Lodge and had an absolutely wonderful time this weekend. A big, beautiful cabin to share with family/friends. Immaculately clean, and jam packed full of extras. Had no idea they had seasonings, olive oils, fully stocked (appliances, dishware, silverware, crock pot, pans, utensils, electric water kettle, coffee maker, coffee press, washer/dryer, vacuum, broom/dishpan, and more). The extra touches are what make this place truly special. Reading material, cozy blankets, puzzles, giant Jenga, grill, nightlights...just in general the owners have clearly gone to great lengths to make it more than comfortable, and like home, which I greatly appreciate. The only slight negative is low water pressure, but that's to be expected due to being on that terrain and the bathrooms are absolutely stunning, tiled out and detailed knotty pine. Beautiful attention to details on the decor as well. The beds were very cozy and comfortable, with the best pillows. Hi-tech gadgets throughout, and linked to a talking alarm system, which can be a lil touchy when cooking, so make sure to have a magazine to fan it nearby and crack a window. They have dual fireplaces, one inside and one outside. They have a satellite Roku, on every level, which is great if you have mixed company, and different tastes. They also have wifi, which is great to save you on your phone bill. The adorable little storybook of each patrons adventures, is a great addition as well. Overall, I definitely will be back, and am looking forward to trying other cabins by this company, too. This was just a larger cabin, but we needed it to fit 9 people. Our future adventures will likely be for our immediate family, but I highly recommend this cabin for larger groups. Scenic, impeccably clean, and unforgettable.

The Hitching Post cabin in Logan, OH near Hocking Hills State Park was a PERFECT place for my husband and I to detach from the craziness of the city and spend two nights in the woods to rest, recuperate, and explore the area. This cabin was beautifully decorated, so clean, had everything we needed in the kitchen (dishes, sponge, pans), bathroom (hygiene items, bath robes, nightlight), and ceiling fans in LR/BR to stay cool (the cabin has A/C but we always sleep with fan on). The hot tub was great for sore muscles after a long, rigorous hike at Hocking Hills, and we loved sitting on the porch to listen to all the birds singing and read. There’s 24-hr on call maintenance if anything goes wrong, and staff were very responsive and kind when I had lots of questions. We would highly recommend this beautiful cabin and look forward to coming back! There are so many cabins to choose from through “Cabins By the Caves.” Glad to have found this gem in my online search!

ETA:The owner (Valerie Green) did contact us regarding this review. She so graciously offered to refund the money for our stay, in exchange for not posting the review. We did stay the 2 days, so we declined her offer for a refund, as we felt that wasn't necessary. She let us know that there was a new housekeeper in training and she may have missed a few items. She also let us know in the confirmation email it tells you where the lockbox is located and I appreciated that information. For me, how you do 1 thing, is how you do anything. She did let us know that it's the guests responsibility to immediately report any issues upon arrival with the cabin as well. I understand that covid-19 has impacted MANY business owners and the economy has been bad. I understand the owner takes pride in her properties. However, as business owners ourselves, we take extra measures to be sure that there is no reason for customer TO complain. To have broken towel holders outside for the hot tub, old & rusty bbq tools, blood spots on the tub (insaw when I pulled the shower curtain completely back) dirty dishes in the freezer and cabinets, dirty smelling linen and just not keeping the cabin in good working order is inviting a negative review. I would like to think this is a 1 off situation, given the new employee and all, so hopefully they will do a better job training and double checking the new housekeepers, so they are aware of what their responsibilities are and how to carry them out. This way the best impression is left on the guests.

Firefly Cabin So this is our 2nd stay with this cabin company. The first stay was nice, so we decided to come back. This cabin was cute, I didn't care too much for the decor overall. The fireplace was quite lovely to have on. The cabin looked generally clean upon arrival, but then we started to question that, which I'll talk about shortly. We didn't initially know that the lockbox to get the key was on the rear door. I wish their email would have told us that, but we figured it out. The grill tools are kept outside on the rear deck and are rusty and dirty looking. We wanted to use the hot tub on our last day here. When we opened the tub, the water looked & smelled gross.......not sure what that was about, but it was a bummer to not be able to enjoy that. The freezer had a dirty glass bowl left in it, although the fridge was cleared out. There was a greasy glass in the cabinet, where you could LITERALLY see hand prints on it. We were stoked to read they had a keurig and brought k-cups. However, they have the cheap, dorm room model. So you couldn't easily use their coffee cups, as they were too big. Also, you have to blindly pour in water, because the max it will hold is 10oz and there's not 1 measuring cup that we could find in the cabin. If you put in too much water,, the base overflows. Soooo ya, just go to Starbucks down the road. Also, there were several dirty plates in the cabinet. Now, the renters are supposed to clean their dishes, so I can't really fault housekeeping for that. However, the dirty bowl in the freezer? They should have double checked that everything was removed & cleaned out prior to our arrival. The fireplace control was just hanging out and not really put together nicely. It did work and that was quite nice! The water pressure in the shower kept going in and out, fluctuating strangely throughout the entire time we were in there. The towels also had a stale smell. I should have brought some from home to use. I wish there was a plastic shovel to clear off the uncovered rear deck. It snowed and was very slippery back there. You of course need to clean up after yourself, which is fine. Overall, it was nice to get away, but we probably won't stay in this cabin again. I don't know if we'll stay with this company again either. We've been coming down to Hocking Hills for well over a decade and have tries many different companies. We REALLY want to enjoy this company, but this experience wasn't very good. I'll post pics once our signal...

Cabins by the caves has very unprofessional owner who can not have a normal adult conversation with someone. I received my invoice upon booking our cabin, I deducted that amount from my bank account, I checked my bank account few days later and noticed the charge from the cabin was significantly higher than my receipt indicated. I called the office to ask what happened. The lady I first spoke with explained it’s the $300 security deposit. Yes I was aware they charge $300 security deposit but no where in the booking process did it state that it was being taken once I booked. My receipt even stated $0 deposit! My understanding is a security deposit shouldn’t even be charged to me till the day I check in, and it should be a pending charge not an automatic charge that has already cleared my bank and it’s still over a week till our stay at this cabin. So yes I’m very upset, had I not checked my bank account when I did I would have over drawn my account after sending out all my bills for the month. I asked for the owner to call me, I wanted to explain that when you don’t disclose the real amount on the receipt at check out that in fact to me is shady business and not acceptable. But from the moment the owner said hello she was very rude and she kept cutting me off wouldn’t even let me speak, she was yelling and wouldn’t calm down. She then hung up on me. I didn’t even get to explain why I’m upset, upset that they aren’t disclosing the real amount they are taking from customers. For someone that owns a business she has NO customer service at all. I tired to call her back she never answered her phone. I called the office back to ask if I could just cancel my reservation because I don’t want to support a business owner who has NO respect for their customers and their concerns. The lady I spoke with said “your reservation is already cancelled” so once the owner hung up on me she cancelled my reservation without my consent or even communicating that to me. I never once said I wanted to cancel, I wanted an explanation on why my receipt says one thing but they charged me another. But instead she cancels her customers reservations. To me that is SHADY business, and I want to warn others not to do business with her!!!!

We were so excited for this cabin we booked for my sons birthday, he was so excited and now tonight I had to break it to him that some mean lady took it upon her self to cancel our cabin and we now have to plan something else with less than a week till his birthday!

EDIT Reply to owner - that is not how our conversation went, but you can continue to spread lies to try and make yourself look better. You never let me explain to you why I was upset at the charges, simply because my receipt didn’t indicate that the $300 deposit would be taken out that date, my receipt shows $0 deposit. You were very rude and nasty and hung up on me without hearing me out! After reading more reviews turns out this is a pattern with you, being rude to your customers when they try to address anything with you in general! Glad to have been...

You have many many options when it comes to a luxury cabin in hocking hills. I highly recommend not using this company. First we were told that we could check in at 4. However I had to meet with their cleaning lady to sign paperwork. I waited over 45 minutes for her to appear. Once she arrived she said she had to be in the next town in 10 minutes to meet a friend and it was raining and she couldn’t get the contract wet, so I was not given an opportunity to read anything I was signing. I signed in good faith as I had read mostly positive things about the company and knew we would leave the cabin in pristine condition. The cabin was beautiful and advertised that it slept 15 comfortably we only had about 10. Our plan was to have a small wedding ceremony in the front of the cabin. 30 guests We had the pleasure of meeting the owner the day of who said she was very happy we were having our wedding there. She said it was what she intended the cabin to be used for and thought that the way we had it set up was beautiful. The cabin is on the corner of 2 dead end streets. After the ceremony the cleaning lady showed up and said that he cars parked on the road needed to move. So I kindly obliged and had all my guests move them off site to a state owned park. this was around 6:30pm. No more than 10-12c cars. Afterwards around 9:30 the cabins managers showed up. At this point there were around 15 people still there. We had music playing inside the cabin but not overly loud by any means. I am in my 30s and most people in attendance were older so it wasn’t a “party” by any stretch of the imagination. The managers demanded that I tell all the guests to leave and that I would be charged extra for wear and tear on the cabin. They said I was in breach of the contract and they should just tell us all to leave. I was highly confused at this point. However I obliged. To say they ruined the experience would be an understatement. Today I got notice from my bank that they have charged me an additional $1000 dollars for my stay. I will post pictures of how the cabin looked the next day. It was as clean if not cleaner than when we arrived. They did not notify me first or even try to justify the charges. My wife and I stay in hocking hills quite often and have never had such a terrible experience. This management team should be embarrassed. I will be posting this on every media outlet available to give a heads up to...
