"A Frame" Cabin - Where You Pay Premium to Live in a Beautiful, Slightly Hostile Art Installation
Alright, let's talk about "A Frame." This cabin is, and I quote, "nice, comfortable and memorable." Which, in vacation speak, means "it looked great on the internet, and we'll definitely remember the sheer experience of staying there. The design? Stunning. Truly a feast for the eyes. So beautiful, in fact, you start to suspect its primary function is not sheltering humans, but rather winning architectural awards while quietly judging your life choices. What makes it beautiful definitely makes it about as practical as a screen door on a submarine. Here's the short list of delightful quirks:
Privacy (or lack thereof): "A Frame" takes the concept of open-plan living to a whole new, terrifying level. We're pretty sure the squirrels outside now know our deepest secrets and our questionable pajama choices.
The Cleaning Protocol: We paid a cleaning fee that suggested a team of highly-trained ninjas would purify the place with sacred rituals after our departure. Instead, we were apparently expected to become the ninjas. "Take out the trash"? "Run the dishwasher"? At a premium price, I expect the trash to take itself out and the dishwasher to run on positive vibes alone. This wasn't cleaning; it was contributing to the upkeep of a minimalist shrine.
The 10 AM Eviction Notice: Ah, 10 AM checkout, the unholy hour designed to separate the relaxed vacationer from the frantic, last-minute packer. We're pretty sure the cleaning crew has snipers trained on the property line, ready to enforce the deadline. We left in a blur of misplaced socks and existential dread, narrowly avoiding a late fee
Breakfast Not Included (Duh): "Premium price" usually whispers sweet promises of little complimentary perks. Like, say, a croissant. Or maybe even a single, lonely piece of fruit or a cup of yogurt. Had to drive miles for basic breakfast. Our stomachs weren't impressed.
The Library of Rules: The sheer volume of notes posted throughout the cabin suggested either previous guests were absolute barbarians, or the owners have trust issues
In summary, "A Frame" is a visually stunning property that will lead to charges of indecent exposure by woodland creatures. If you value aesthetics over, say, sleeping in or eating breakfast without leaving the property, book it. Just remember your garbage bags, your alarm clock, and a strong tolerance for...

Read moreWe recently stayed at A Frame as a mini moon get away that our moms planned for us right after our wedding. We have never been to Hocking Hills so we didn’t know what to expect. We were absolutely mind blown from the time we pulled up to the gate to the time we left. Everything was perfect and thoroughly thought out. Everything is labeled so there no need to wonder which switch turns what on, how to work the hot tub, what to do with the towels or garbage, where to get fire wood, etc. The pond has paddle boats and everything you need to fish all in the building by the pond. The Hub is the central hang out area where you can play basketball ball, pickle ball, ping pong, pool, corn hole, etc. Then you have The Barn where all our furry friends were at. They literally have a petting zoo on the grounds. This place is amazing. I wish I could give them a 10 star rating. We met the owners and some workers and everyone was super nice and down to earth and involved. They aren't just some owners that don’t know what’s going on. They built this place and you can tell it’s their baby. We are already planning our next stay....
