We stayed in the Chateau, it was the first cabin on their property past the lodge but still was completely private while on the front porch, back patio and inside the cabin. So much natural light in the cabin which I loved! We stayed in March so we used the fireplace and it was lovely, I would never book a cabin again without one if staying in cooler months.
The cabin itself was clean and provided everything we needs for our stay as noted on their website so there were no surprises which I appreciate (plenty of bath towels, dish soap, trash bags, bowls, pots, pans, etc). We did all of our cooking there (both a charcoal and gas outdoor grills options), the stove top is electric. I only wish there were a few more kitchen hand towels provided but paper towels also worked (they provided one roll which was great).
One feature I particularly loved about this cabin were all the hooks to hang bath towels and wet clothes on in the bedrooms. We stay at another cabin in Wisconsin each year who don't have hooks and let me tell you, this small feature seems life savings (Who likes wet towels? NO ONE). There were no closets in the bedrooms but each housed a small three drawer dresser. They even had USB charger pods in each bedroom (bring your own cord but the actual station to plug in they had - I think it could charge 3 devices).
The hot tub was clean and in great working order, though we couldn't figure out how to turn the jets on at first, we used the house phone (provided by the cabin) to call and ask about how it worked and they promptly responded and assisted us over the phone. Our cell phones didn't not work to take or receive calls but this was not a surprise. The internet would randomly go in and out (rarely) but we expected that as it's a cabin in the woods on a hill and it did not ruin our stay. They had some board games, a few decks of cards and around 15 DVDs to choose from but also had instructions on how to watch the Direct TV.
It was a 10-15 minute drive to Old Man's Cave parking area and a 20 minute drive to the local Wal-Mart.
There were only two of us who stayed but we definitely would come back to the same cabin with our daughter because there would be plenty of space for a family of three to five. You could probably fit a pack-in-play in the corner of one of the bedrooms if you needed to for a little one. Finding king size beds in a cabin is rare so that was plus for us.
Would recommend to friends or family and would be confident to book with...

Never made it down to make a fire, but area looked very inviting. Great Weber gas grill on back deck. Enjoyed breakfast and dinner on the deck. Nice supply pots/pan/utensils. ||Everything very clean ... did see one mouse in the back closet when we were trying to figure out well water pump (read further down) but, hey, if I were a mouse, I would want to live here! We had snacks out on top of the frig and in cabinets & NEVER saw any evidence of mouse getting into anything (think we startled him as much as he startled us😄)||We found the bed to be comfy and provided coffee in jar in frig surprisingly good.||Areas we wanted to hike were a bit spread out, so a bit of driving around on a few narrow roads in an area with almost nonexistent cell/internet, but liked location & privacy. Road in cabin complex itself is narrow & a bit hilly, and rain can quickly make bumps/ruts, so glad we had a truck, but seems they are on top of re-graveling maintenance.||Prob since so remote, power can go out, and it did with a round of passing storms ... found power off returning from a hike, so went into Logan for a beer, and were happy to find it back on when we got back ... BUT water was not working ... went into back closet (mouse:)) to check electric panel and well pump all switches seemed to be on ... went to another cabin and was told phone to owners on outside of one of the cabins & called for help ... not even realizing there was a land line phone in our own cabin 🙄 ... owners tried to trouble shoot, then offered to send son out to help ... poor kid took an hour to get there on a Sunday around 9pm ... he couldn’t get to work on same tries we did ... told him we could live without the water since leaving the next day, but then after a call he returned & figured out a special way to work well pump switch to get water back (YEY).||Of course weather cooperating with our hikes & water activities added to our positive view of the area, but if you had to be rained in, the cabin would be cozy.||Would look to stay here again if...
Read moreI’m giving our stay 5 stars because we truly enjoyed being away with no cell service for two days! ||We stayed in the Dreamcatcher cabin. It’s a cozy little place with two small bedrooms and one bathroom. It’s private and quiet, and you will have zero service on your phone. No WiFi or anything. That made my husband a little anxious as he has a very stressful job and couldn’t answer emails for two days. But, he needed it. |There’s a hot tub out back and that was maybe my favorite part. We spent a lot of time there in the evening. Inside, the gas fireplace is perfect. I curled up on the couch with a book one morning and read for hours. |We didn’t get to stay long, but if you need it, there’s a full kitchen with just about everything you’d need. There’s a fire ring out back that we didn’t have a chance to use, but you can easily purchase bundles of firewood. ||My one complaint is about the beds/pillows. My goodness the bed was awful! Zero stars. It was hard and uncomfortable (and we sleep on a firm bed at home, this was like a block of wood). The pillows had no fluff or give. We just couldn’t get comfortable. I got up at 6am the first morning after tossing and turning most of the night. My back was a mess. On day 2, we both woke up around 6 and wound up leaving as soon as it was light out because we were in pain and exhausted. ||All that said, we’d probably come back. Maybe try another cabin even. We hiked Old Mans Cave and had some great food at the Old Dutch and Captain Rons Pirate Pizza. It was definitely worth the drive up for some...
