Hocking Hills Luxury Lodging — Local services in Logan

Absolutely amazing experience at the Rush Resort. The amenities were almost too much to take in, as we had plans to explore the surrounding caves and trails but ended up staying the entire weekend at the resort instead.

The game room was great, and the theatre room was outstanding with an incredible surround sound system that made it easy to sink into a movie. We took advantage of the hot tub multiple times, and if we would have been there in May that outdoor pool looked like it would be nice too. Two firepits, a lighted pavilion seating area with electricity, and a small pond with a john boat made it hard to come inside at times. Plenty of seating everywhere on the property, and lounge seats on the deck made for a nice relaxing night underneath a starry sky.

A full kitchen with furnishings to cook anything you can imagine, and a deluxe dishwasher to make cleanup easier. We made two full meals and two full breakfasts, both times for breakfast we took advantage of the TWO outdoor grills, one of which is a flattop, perfect for 18 eggs and bacon at the same time!

I haven't even mentioned the sights... the great room had a view of the hills that was nearly breathtaking, and as the morning sun comes over the horizon the fog nestling in the trees makes for an absolutely spectacular moment with a warm cup of coffee in hand, inside on the couch of course... no glass outside. Haha!

We had tears in our eyes as we pulled away, but knowing we are coming back in September to stay at bourbon ridge makes it a bit easier to stomach leaving such a gorgeous piece of Ohio tucked away...

Several of our nine grandchildren reviewed the Bourbon Ridge Retreat web page video multiple times over the months before our August, 2015, arrival. They were very excited for what the video showed. During our visit, they all commented that the video very accurately portrays the fun and beauty of the Bourbon Ridge lodge. The pool and hot tub were in constant use, as we lucked out with nice summer weather. The grounds were used for kickball, balloon toss, soccer and corn hole. The amazing and comfortable movie theater was used for hours by both kids and adults. Kitchen accessories were abundant and top notch as each of our families shared the dinner responsibility. The dining table perfectly sat our entire group of 18 and we thoroughly enjoyed talking about the days activities with all the kids together. Everyone enjoyed the trails through the pines, the covered cabana with grills, the bonfires at night, the beautiful sunsets (especially on the last night) and being together. A trip to Old Man's Cave was enjoyable, as well. Everything was done well in the lodge and we were very impressed with Matt's availability, response and friendliness. We arrived at Laurel Run Farm on a snowy beautiful day-a beautiful property on the outside and inside. Stepping inside from the cold I was overwhelmed by this beautiful lodge. Warm and inviting with charming decor, I was instantly impressed. The photos on their website had done it justice. The amenities were amazing (and so many!) and there was not one thing we needed to ask for. Loved having the close by pantry with an extra refrigerator for this wonderfully stocked kitchen. We cooked fabulous birthday dinners, watched movies on the big screen in the viewing room, played ping pong, pool and air hockey, enjoyed the fire, soaked in the hot tub and just had an amazing time celebrating 2 birthdays and being together for 3 nights. (8 of us). Plus, we were able to take our two smaller dogs which made it even more like home. Everything was spotless and the management team was wonderful to work with, attentive and responding to questions promptly (before our arrival). We highly recommend this property and hope to return in warmer weather when we can use the beautiful pool and stay longer.
