Update: Wow what a difference a year can make. My now husband and I had stayed at the Bookers Cabin twice last year and loved it. Thinking we had found our go to place for weekend trips, we were thrilled with everything the property had to offer. When we decided to elope we decided to book the cabin for our honeymoon and elopement ceremony. This was a mistake. I don’t know what happened to the quality of the service here, but it has drastically declined in one year. Our first night there we went out to the spa pool, which is advertised as being heated with jets. It worked fine last year but the jets wouldn’t work this year. The pool was dirty. The welcome sheet for the property said that the pool is cleaned every morning, and we did have someone clean it everyday our first two visits last year, but this time no one did. So the next morning we called
and called
and called before we finally got someone to call us back. We asked for them to come clean the spa pool and about the jets. An hour later the gentleman that can out to clean the pool only used the skimmer and didn’t bother checking the chemical levels, which they did every day of our previous stays. He said he would find out about the jets because he couldn’t get them to turn on either. A few hours later we get a call that the jets were permanently shut off until spring because they had to be repaired. Why weren’t we informed of this before our stay? Why would you not have preemptively told us, apologized, and offered some sort of compensation for that fact that one of the best features about your cabin is broken until spring?

The pool not only was broken it was also filthy. It had a layer of brown grime around the inside of it that honestly made me ill to think about. After the first day it was never cleaned on the next two mornings like their welcome sheet said it would be.

The television wasn’t working because the cables were not plugged in correctly so we had to call someone to come out and correct them because they have a sign that says if you mess with their cables they can charge you a fee for correcting it.

They told us they were going to compensate us for the broken pool and took several weeks to decide how to compensate us. We were told we were going to be given $100 off our next stay and the coupon would come in the mail, 3 months later and we never did receive it. Also $100 off our NEXT stay? Yeah, I don’t think that will ever happen. It’s sad because I have recommended this place to several couples and now I get to go back and advise them to find another place to stay. There are so many options in Hocking Hills that you really shouldn’t treat guests like this and expect them to just keep coming back. We had planned on another trip later this year but will be staying at a different place.

Original Review: Absolutely LOVE this place. We have been here twice to the cabins and every time we are blown away by the accommodations (the amazing shower and theater room are perfect) and surroundings. They are super friendly. Our favorite part was the heated pool that was great even in February. This has become are go to place...

Our recent stay at the Ridgemont Lodge at Bourbon Ridge Resort to celebrate our son's 16th birthday was nothing short of phenomenal! From the moment we arrived, we were enveloped in an atmosphere of luxury, comfort, and pure enjoyment. This lodge truly exceeded all our expectations and provided the perfect backdrop for a memorable milestone celebration.

The lodge itself is stunning. The spacious layout provided ample room for our son and his friends to spread out and have a fantastic time. The swimming pool was an absolute hit, providing hours of fun and refreshing entertainment. The home theater was another major highlight – the boys were thrilled to have their own private cinema to watch movies and cheer on their favorite teams. And for a bit of friendly competition, the comfortable and well-appointed common areas were ideal for their poker games.

Beyond the incredible amenities of the lodge, the location is simply unbeatable. Being so close to the breathtaking Hocking Hills region allowed for easy access to incredible natural beauty. Our son and his friends spent several fulfilling hours exploring the iconic Old Man's Cave and the awe-inspiring Ash Cave. It was wonderful to see them connect with nature and create lasting memories amidst such stunning scenery.

What truly elevated our experience was the impeccable attention to detail and the overall ambiance of the Ridgemont Lodge. It felt like a true retreat, offering both privacy and luxury. The lodge was impeccably clean, beautifully decorated, and equipped with everything we could possibly need for a comfortable and enjoyable stay.

Bourbon Ridge Resort has truly created a gem with the Ridgemont Lodge. It's the perfect blend of upscale accommodation and access to incredible outdoor adventures. If you're looking for a special place to celebrate a significant occasion or simply want to escape and enjoy the beauty of Hocking Hills in style, we wholeheartedly recommend the Ridgemont Lodge. Our son's 16th birthday celebration was an absolute success, and the Ridgemont Lodge played a huge part in making it so unforgettable. We can't...

Bourbon Ridge was beyond AMAZING!! We went there a few weeks ago with several other families and it had everything we could have wanted for both adults and all the kids! From the chef's ready kitchen and wood burning oven to the hot tub (unfortunately weather and time of year didn't permit us to use the pool) to the theater and game room spaces...there was never a time when anyone couldn't find something to do. The lodge's floorplan was so spacious and well thought out that even with 23 people we were never falling over each other and never got in each other's way! (that's impressive!)

We were able to spend time with family and kids together going for hikes on the properties many trails, hanging out in the hammock garden, playing soccer and basketball in the yard (kids even enjoyed just rolling down the big grassy hill in the front!), spent time in the hot tub, and had a great time wrapping up the evening roasting marshmallows at the fire pit for s'mores.

Not only was there tons to do at the property...but the location was perfect! We were able to take quick easy drives to both Old Man's Cave and Ash Cave for some hiking with the kids as well!

Once kids were asleep....the set up of the lodge was so nice that adults could stay up talking, watching movies in the theater, and playing cards at the game table and never worry about waking up the little ones! Perfect layout in the lodge...lots of little conversation areas for people to gather and all the creature comforts we could have asked for!

We had a wonderful time and are already trying to coordinate weekends to go back again this fall! If I could give Bourbon Ridge Retreat more than 5 stars I would....5 stars just doesn't describe how amazing this place is!

Perhaps the best praise I can give is this....my husband was a chef and when we go somewhere and he's impressed with the ammenities (especially in the kitchen and the wood burning pizza oven) I know it's a special...

Nice place, property, and area but would not call it “luxury”. Priced for luxury but it is just mid level. Bedroom - mattress and sheets just ok. Bathroom - toilet closet door does not close. Big shower is too big. I like a nice two person shower, but this could fit eight people. It is really just a cold tile room. Shower head and wall sprayers can’t be on at the same time. Wall sprayers are placed too low also. Bench also slopes down, so can’t sit on it or you will just slide off lol. They don’t provide anything but hand soap. Living room couch is out of shape and you sink. Movie room door sticks and won’t close all the way, recliners are also out of shape and hard to put down. Kitchen is adequately stocked with dishes, but again not luxury. The outside area needs way more privacy, really it is just too manicured and mowed. I would have preferred a more natural area where trees and grasses hid the other cabin. The pool/hot tub is kind of nice, but doing double duty means it does not do either very well. Too warm to be a refreshing plunge pool and too big for jets to do anything but provide bubbles. Just my opinion though, may be nicer in other seasons. Loungers are also out at dock, and not by pool, so can’t really lay by the pool when visiting in summer. Dock area is nice if you wanted to fish. Trail system is underwhelming. There is not enough information on what the trails are, how long, elevations ect. The viewing blinds do not actually exist. The hammock garden is nice (would be nice to add individual ones closer to the cabin). The suspension bridge was fun but not easy to find. The sunset viewing hill was very underwhelming based on description. It is remote, parks and food are a 20-30 minute drive. That was fine for us as we planned on cooking and exploring on the property the whole time. We had a nice and relaxing stay but probably would not stay again at that price point.

We have been guests at the Makers Lodge (2014, 2015), but this was the first time we stayed at the Woodford cabin. My wife and I were celebrating our 20th wedding anniversary and after considering other options nearby, we decided to book the Woodford. The cabin exceeded our expectations. We were greeted upon arrival for the quick check in process. The photos on the website don't quite do it justice. Everything was top notch - including the massive shower with multiple shower heads, jets, etc. After unpacking, we were unsure what to do first! We decided to do a little fishing. I caught several good size bass and my wife hooked several blue gills. We grilled a great meal and ate on the covered porch. We finished the day with a dip in the pool/hot tub and then a fire in the fireplace. The next morning we went for a run on the trails, which included crossing the suspension bridge. The landscaping/flowers throughout, including around the cabins, are outstanding. We had to stop and check out the hammock garden - I don't think there is a photo of this on the website, but there should be one! In the afternoon, we had massages using the service listed on the Bourbon Ridge website. It was great. We grilled another great meal and finished the day with another fire. We brought several movies to watch in the theater room, but the weather was so nice we didn't watch them. While we love the Hocking Hills region, once we parked our car, we never left the cabin - too much to do on site. We were both sad to leave in the morning and can't wait to return soon.

We've stayed at the Ridgemont cabin for our annual girls Glamping trip for the last three years in a row. What an absolute treat it's been to stay in this cabin! While there is an indoor pool, I've spent most of my time in the in-ground, giant hot tub! We have 10 girls who attend this trip and the beds available make everyone able to sleep in a king sized bed or a bottom bunk. I will say we have all slept in the bunk beds and they are really not great for middle aged, painful bodies. We definitely always bring inflatable mattress toppers for those beds. The king beds however, super lovely! And the walk-in showers are ah-mazing! The kitchen is huge and accommodates the ridiculously large amount of food we always happen to bring. Although, I only used it the first year, there is a flat top griddle outside along with a gas grill. There appear to be walking trails around the property but I actually dknt think any of us have ventured out much. I know the girls were talking about going out and finding the hammock park but I don't think anyone ever did. We just bring bathing suits and lounge wear and spending the weekend lounging luxuriously!
